Can i refund the item without her knowing?

Hi all,
my mother in law bought me a bed a few days ago at beaumont and it will be delivererd tomorrow to my address i've just seen it online and don't like it at all she paid for the bed by card at the store. I'd like to know if i can refund the item? Without having her with me?

The stores contract is with your MIL so you won't be able to refund it sorry

most places will normally refund (if they indeed allow refunds) back onto the card it was paid with0

Where'd she buy it from?
From my experience, bed companies (like sofa and furniture retailers) tend not to offer cancellations when ordered instore.0 -
Looks like you need to explain its not a bed you like, could you not cover it up though, whats so bad about it though ?0

Firstly the colour, it's white and my bedroom is a pink and black theme so will not go at all. It's too high - i buy very low beds as i co-sleep with my baby son and it makes me feel a lot more comfortable knowing we're not that far off the ground also... it's just hideous:(
I don't want to come across rude to her as it was a gift and she's not exactly an easy woman to deal with unfortunately.
Do you think I could possibly get an exchange so i could add money on to[ for a beter bed?

You'll need to ask the store, but if it's being delivered tomorrow you chances are slim to non-existent.0

If they do agree to exchange it for something else, bear in mind they will likely charge you for the second delivery, i'd imagine about £50. Plus perhaps a restocking fee for the one being returned (unless you can appeal to their good nature).
But as already said...... just go and discuss it with them, you never know, they may be quite good about it0 -
another thing is you could refuse delivery0
