  • Thanks for the reference to the 1971 act.

In reality the goods were sent in error, so I suppose do not really fall under the act.

I have emailed the vendor again, reminding him to organise the return of his goods.

If there was some mechanism whereby I could guarantee I would be re-imbursed for postage, then I would return the goods (assuming I was given the full address, rather than just a city :)).

As it is, there seems to be no traceable means by which I can do this (as of course I do not have an invoice to refund against as I did not order it!).

Anyway - I have reminded him again which is all I can do.

    Thanks

Just to clarify, these are NOT unsolicited goods, they are goods sent in error. Big difference.

But it is up to the seller to arrange the return, not you.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

To clarify further, they are unsolicited. It means not requested.
  • Over a week since I last emailed - no response. I think I will leave it in a drawer for six months - if I have heard nothing by then do you think it would be safe to assume that the seller can not be bothered to make the effort to collect their goods?

At that price, I doubt it's worth the effort of the seller to collect them. A collection is surely going to cost £5 - £20 so it's probably not worth it, unless maybe he sends you a prepaid envelope and you post it back .

If I had made the error, I'd just say keep it. Not worth the hassle for £12.95.

That sounds like politician speak. For further clarity what exactly is the difference between "unsolicited goods" and "goods sent in error"?
