For a colleague who was late almost every morning...i bought an alarm clock.
  • One year I received a posh box of choccies and a litre of expensive vodka! The limit was a fiver! Either someone raided the cupboards or was after something else! :o Never did find it out who it was.....

For young blokes you usually can't go wrong with a box of jelly boobs from bhs for about 3 quid :). One year a bald colleague (with a sense of humour) received a can of pledge and a duster!

For males, if you know any of their interests (sport, playing cards, football team, whatever), search Ebay for Belt Buckles..... loads that are great fun under or around £5!

In my secret santa I didnt know who I was buying for, so I got a calender from the £1 shop. You can put your own pictures in a slot each month to personalise it. I thought it was amazing value.
    £100 - £10,000

The best ones from last year were a primark onesie in camoflage print and a mankini for a couple of the guys on my team :D

A particularly vain guy got a huge bar of chocolate with a wrapper mocked up with his name on it a la "if he was chocolate he'd eat himself"

    We pull no punches :D

Someone told me about getting a mug printed on the ASDA photodesk saying 'our secret santa budget is £5 and all I got was this lousy mug!' I've put this one on a few threads this year even though it is not my idea, it made me smile!
  • i just gave a homemade festive box with appropriate decorations and ribbon. Inside was a selection of craft goodies that i'd picked up at reasonable prices. it wasn't much of a secret santa (everyone guessed it was from me) but my recipient had a big smile on her face and the packaging (box) can be re-used as well.
  • For one of the guys in the office (bah! Humbug type), he received an Oor Willie Annual and a jar of "sour plooms"

Everyone had a good laugh at his present. Suited him down to a T.

I got an old boss a bath headrest shaped like a set of buxom boobs. Wasn't really his bag, but the picture on the box looked exactly the same as he did, so it caused a laugh that way.

My colleague has just bought a vajazzle kit for a secret santa she's going to, but that's more a case of drop something in, and pull something out of a hat, rather than for a specific person. That could get interesting.
Always on the hunt for a bargain.

Always grateful for any hints, tips or guidance as to where the best deals are:smileyhea
