I had a new meter fitted years ago by BG, when I came home from work the fitters had installed it but not fixed to the wall he just used the pipes to hold it in place, the meter was hanging by the inlet and outlet pipes my next door neighbour told me that the fitter said I need to put a bit of wood under the meter to support it. On the phone to BG new engineers out and fixed to the wall, had it done recently again the guy fixed it to the wall no problems.
