Gas meter dropping off wall

I moved in to my house just over a year ago and noticed that the fixing bracket for the gas meter in the garage was slighlty off the wall, but not loose.
Now I have noticed that the wall plug fixings are coming out of the brick work and the meter is loose.
Who does the responsibility lie with and will it cost me anything to have it re-fixed?

I think the meter always belongs ro the Gas company so it should be their responsibility, having said that they charge for anything they can. Phone and ask, i'd put a couple of new screws in myself.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

This is the responsibility of the Meter Operator(MOp), though you would need to go through your supplier to book the job (the MOp may even be the supplier themselves or a third party).
Speak to your supplier to book a job as soon as you can.Ex BG complaints veteran of 6 years!0 -

Tell them it's a danger, hanging on the wall and you keep knocking it accidentally and they may move it to a more convenient position."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

.........and you keep knocking it accidentally............
I wouldn't be saying that, if you do they are bound to say that it's your fault, that you have damaged their mounting and charge you accordingly. :eek:0 -
they wont move the meter jsut because of the above, the need todo a rigid fix again if unsafe call 0800 111999 or your supplierDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

do not call the gas emergency service it is not their responsibility to secure your meter it is that of the supplierI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

A gas meter hanging off the wall, leaning or slipping off the brackets, should be an emergency 4 hour callout via the Meter operator.
With gas its an emergency incase it damages the pipework.
call your supplier immediately.Working within the gas and electric industry since 2008'0
