quote for double glazing

  • As a Australian where double glazing doesn't exist, yes i am serious if the price is good or not.

Like i said above they told me outright i would get cheaper quotes but the price reflected the windows being gas filled and a 15 year guarantee.

I have no idea what the 'normal' price would be, especially on this type of product/ re cost of windows depending on size.
i have allready posted a reply to your post but omitted to mention that at no time was i ever aware that anglians windows were gas filled, in fact im not sure what gas filled windows are? either way this price is way way too much. good luck.
  • Hi Continualdiamond,

I'm also in Nottinghamshire and would be interested to know who else you have had quotes from and which company you eventually decide to go with. We have a new baby and have decided the house would be a much warmer cosier place if we can afford to get the windows changed. I had the guy from EcoGlaze round last week (they advertise on Saga). Not had the quote yet but will share on here when I have it as I too have no clue on pricing and will need some advice.

    Helen.

Being trying to get an idea of cost, too - I've not tried the Screwfix site, mentioned above, but did go to someone in Birmingham, mentioned in another thread - U fit or self fit or similar.

They priced at around £9000 for what we wanted, but couldn't deliver doors - only windows!

Also tried https://www.bacwindows.co.uk on their price it yourself link. Came out at £13000 less 35% discount, so not much different & they fit!!

But we're still waiting for their brochure, despite asking on e mail & US ringing THEM - amazing poor follow up from a window firm!!

Still, we've not bought the house....YET!!

In 2005 we had seven windows and a front door done for that same price so your quote seems very expensive to me.
