Just for the record, I'd need to be a moron to be taken in by your explanation above. :) I think it's better to avoid personal abuse, as it demeans the one uttering it.

What slander? I must have missed that.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I think they meant libel, but I missed that too.

  • Considering you paid nothing for the advice you received I think you've done fairly well out of it.

If you want "expert" advice then go pay for it.

If you don't want to explain your situation and be somewhat helpful to the regulars that give up their time to help noobs asking stupid questions then don't expect answers that are helpful.

  • In point of fact, Tembo did not call me a moron by PM. I was told off however. And I used the Cat story to indicate what can happen at that point, rather than to spill the beans on Tembo's PM. The PM did arrive at that point.

  • Lucky you, to be given that sum of money when just starting out. You have been very abrupt with some helpful posters but I'm wondering if that is stress- trying to buy property and having a very ill mum. To invest the vast majority of the money is really sensible, as it was given to you for that reason(I presume?) and it stops any temptation to spend on luxuries you would like but don't need.
A visit to a financial advisor might be a good investment- however perhaps they won't come out with anything better than has been suggested here.
    Good luck with it all

Why not? As a lover of flats I find your comments incredibly insensitive, we treat gay people with respect but not people who love flats! I find flats are much more tender lovers than humans.
