I'd like to buy a horse.
Start a new thread please, otherwise responses to your horse problem will get mixed up with someone else's cat and rat problem.

Oh wait, this is about buying a flat.

That's the typical rude answer I'd expect from you Davy - I come on here looking for advice about a horse and you don't answer my question.

ps can i keep one unattended in a flat for 3 days? Don't ask me why though.

Would you like a link to the page with the new thread button?
Horses will not solve your rat infestation.

  • Ok ok, cats, rats n sacks, how many people can I leave in my flat unattended for 3 days?

Id just like to say, that

    A. I did not Pm Davyshudow telling him he was a moron. It's not needed.

    and

2.Thanks for all your advice. I see why you have suggested what you have given what I've posted. I understand that buying a house now would be the logical step to save money in the long run. However, I have my reasons for wanting the place I am buying and I don't want to go into those reasons in a public forum. So if anyone's got any suggestions on what to do with my mortgage on the flat that would be great.

The trouble is that DVardy has been posting here a long time, and he's one of the most respected posters here. So, your continuing to call him a moron says more about you than it does about DV. I think you should desist.

As for the mortgage, you have had loads of advice.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I never have called him that.

I dont need anymore advise, as I said in previous posts, thank you to all who have helped. I posted the above, as more of a tongue in cheek reply than a request for further 'expert' advice.

Not sure there's much more to say.
My post number 32 compares the two suggestions you've had. Read it and take your pick.

The general consensus, to summarise, is that
    (a) you should use your new money to bring your loan-to-value down, which will get you a better deal
    and
    (b) pay off your mortgage as quickly as possible.
