Buy euros now for January, or hang on?

Options
The euro rate at the moment is highest I've seen for a while and I think it's been going up (though I don't monitor all that closely!) -- guess this is a result of the current situation.

The question is, should I grab some now for my holiday at the end of January, or hang on to see if it gets even better?

How many Euros do you want to buy?

It's an unanswerable question. Yes, no, maybe, don't know are all valid answers

You will probably do better getting your euros from the best source at the time than anything you do trying to second guess the currency markets.

    £500 @ 1.18 = €590
    £500 @ 1.14 = €570

  • That really is the billion dollar question.

The euro has been up, down and pretty much the same for the last few months. I wouldn't expect it to get much higher than it is now if it does go up.

I would be inclined to get them now just so that they are got.

When you look at it that way, it does seem kinda trivial, I admit!

It's just I like to think I'm getting the best deal possible. :j

Think I'll settle for buying them now, then at least I can tell myself it's a better price than the last lot I bought (earlier this year)

    Thanks to all who commented.

It could go up. It could go down.

    It might also not exist.........

That's the thing. If you are only looking at changing a few hundred pounds then the difference is probably only going to be €10-20 so it's not worth getting overly stressed about it.
