Mis-sold tv?

Hi everybody,
I hope you can help! I bought a 3d tv on Sunday. When purchasing, I asked the salesperson if I needed to pay extra to watch things on 3d such as Sky etc. He said no & that I could watch anything 2d in 3d as the tv would change it although it wouldn't be true 3d. I've got the tv home & set up but I can't watch anything in 3d other than 3d dvd's or without getting a Sky+HD subscription as the Sky+ box doesn't have a hdmi connection. Would I be able to take the tv back & get a refund on these grounds?
Thanks.

I think you would struggle as the sales person told the truth on most if not all 3D tv's there is an option to 'convert 2d to 3d' which gives a 3d look and feel for normal broadcasts and it's not up to the sales person to ask if you already have sky-hd, virgin hd in your home already (I guess it's kind of assumed if you are looking at a 3d tv you have this in place already)
To get onto the whole 3d bandwagon you would need sky-hd at a minimum with hdmi 1.4 leads and possibly a new blu-ray player so the cost can mount up pretty rapidly.
However depending on where you brought it you could certainly give it a go but be careful they might try and sell you all the other bits to give you the full 3d package.0 -
Unless you have anything in writing, which I highly doubt, then your chances of getting a refund are slim to none.:pB&SC No. 298

The risk of chancing upon the sight of Bruce Forsyth and his dreadful panel, let alone many of the contestants, displayed in 3D, while skipping through channels on a Saturday night, is, for me, an extremely powerful deterrent to buying a 3D television! :eek:Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance

Which TV is it? AFAIK, only Toshiba do not currently do 2D-to-3D conversionSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
