Best value/supermarket own brand nappies

So far I've tried only branded nappies for my newborn - pampers, huggies and nature babycare, all bought with mocs. I'm thinking about downgrading, though I like pampers, they really seem to be super absorbant. Can you please share your experience which value and supermarket own brand nappies are pretty good in comparison with branded stuff. TIA

I've used Asda's Little Angels nappies on a 3 year old I fostered and DD uses them for DGD and we both think they're very good and not unlike Pampers. Fit is very important with nappies though so a lot depends on the shape of your baby.
  • I've never rated huggies or pampers for my boys, they didn't seem very absorbant.

I used tesco purple packet nappies until discovering aldi nappies over a year ago. My son has size 4 now and they are £4.99 for 48. I can't fault them, they've not leaked once.

lidl and aldi are both good - I don't think they do the smaller sizes though

For teeny babies the boots own brand were good but I only used them for a month at most

    Hi :)

You will find that different nappies suit/fit different babies....some of my friends love Pampers for example, but we didn't agree as they seemed to leak a lot for us personally. We preferred Huggies if using brand named nappies.

For supermarket brands-we first got on well with asda's little angels, untill our son got bigger then the shape didn't seem to suit so we tried sainsburys and loved these :)

It's all trial and error to be honest. I'm starting off with huggies, pampers and asda's little angels this time-simply because i have had vouchers and the asdas newborn were on special offer a while back for £1 a big pack :) So we'll see how we get on.

I liked the Tesco Essentials ones, but as others said, it's trial and error to see what suits your baby.
Here I go again on my own....
  • Im using Tesco Value nappies atm..very good, esp for the money!
  • Sainsburys value/smartprice ones are AWFUL.

I have never tried any other value ones but asda little angels gets my vote too, as does boots own. I always use huggies for bed and cheaper ones through day.
  • I've used everything at some point (3 children). No hesitation to recommend all of them. I recently needed to save cash and have gone over to the 'value' ranges which, at £1.43 for 20 in Asda cannot be beaten. A bit plasticky, but they work as well as anything else I've put on a bottom!
  • I found the boots own brand pants....
But tescos purple packet ones have been fine on all my children once they hit 6 months. I found with the girls were under 6months pampers were only ones that didnt leak and with the boys Huggies.
Heard lots good reviews on Lidl/aldi but we dont ave one local enough for me to try them.
As someone else said it is trial and error. I literally tried every brand on my girls before I found what was okay. x
