Onestopshop cancellation contract

So originally I ordered a phone from vodafone in a hurry before I go home for christmas. They told me my credit check failed so in a panic I went to another company and got a contract. I received an email form vodafone today telling me the phone has been dispatched and it was an error in the system, Onestop phone shop have also sent me an email confirming that they will be sending me a phone as well.

So now I have two contract phones and I need to cancel my contract with onestop phone shop. How do I do this and is it possible without losing money. The phone was free so I payed no deposit. I can't ring them due to lack of credit, but I have emailed as soon as I got their email confirming that the order was processed.

I'm in a right pickle and I am getting very stressed. Any help would be great.

How do I return my order?
Call our customer advisors on 0871 522 3401 and we'll let you know how to do this.
I don't think that you can avoid calling them.
  • Also make sure you cancel the "free" insurance and gadget helpline (both seperately).
  • Drumlegend can you let me know whether you have managed to get a full refund and got the CONTRACT CANCELLED?

We ordered a new iPhone 4 with a 18month contract from Vodafone back in Mar-11. As an O2 customer when we called to notify them they matched Vodafone's offer and we decided to stay. We shipped the phone straight back to Vodafone - within 7 days as required by their Policy (have a proof of Signed For delivery).

We got a full refund for the handset, however Vodafone did NOT cancel the contract. We noticed a couple of months later on our bank statement that we are being charged £40pm and called them immediately. They agreed to making an error and promised a refund - this has never come.

We called them again and again, got even an email confirmation (in Sep-11) that the contract has been finally cancelled but in October-11 - another £40!! Last time we were advised to speak to the Account Manager who abruptly said to us that we had never contacted them and then transferred the call to a Dell Helpline!?

Since then we've been only sending emails/letters but they still got us nowhere - we were offered £25 credit on a account as a goodwill gesture! What a joke - we don't even have an account :)

The company has taken now nearly £300 and keeps messing around. We blocked the Direct Debit (which we thought we couldn't do before) but still awainting the full refund.

    Can anyone HELP??

Have you really cancelled it in Mar-11 within 7 days? Shipping back is not the same as cancellation.

Having said that, if you have a e-mail confirming that the contract has been cancelled, you do have a leg to stand on.

May be you just think that you don't.

Be prepared to yet another fight for having your trashed credit history restored.

Stop calling them. Their telephone CS is notoriously useless. Follow their formal complaint procedure, then complain to the ombudsman.

Alternatively post in Vodafone complaints thread and contact their web relations team as they advise there. This team and the executive office are the only small parts of their CS that are capable of doing something.
  • I'd do the latter; formal complaints are ignored and treated the same as averyone else in Vodafone treat them (other than the CRT).
