Can I port without paying? This is confusing TRUST ME!

Basically, I got two contracts:

- One on O2

- The second one on '3'

I want the O2 number to go on the '3' number but at the same time dont want the o2 sim cancelled or I'll have to pay ayleast £120 in cancellation fees.

I cant afford to lose either contract, the '3' one is like 1 day old and the o2 ocntract is only 4 months old.

I was wondering can't I put another number e.g. payg number on t the O2 sim making it have two number then porting the o2 number onto 3?

Would that work? O2 customer service guy didnt sound like he knew what he was talking about.

I know you lot on here know a lot about this stuff, so, though I'll ask for HELP!

Has you O2 contract ended or nearing the end (eg 11th month)?

Not sure you can port your number midway through a contract - if you did, I am sure there would be charges incurred (rightly so).

Can't I for example put another number on the O2 contract meaning there is two numbers on it then moving one of the O2 numbers onto the 3 contract? meaning at no point the O2 sim would be without a number?

No - because the number from which yo are porting needs to be coming to an end. Not just mid way.
