Just a quick question really, those of you who have split up from OH's.
Do you still buy Christmas/birthdays gifts for your ex's family?
The reason I'm asking is because I split up with my husband in October this year and I have bought gifts for everyone as normal, but is it my responsibility or his?

if the idea behind them is its pressies from your ex to his family, then its most definitely his responsibility, and if you split up in October and hadn't bought the pressies then, in your shoes I wouldn't even have considered buying his pressies for him. Did you just do it out of habit?0

I think it all depends, I split from my ex, but oddly extremely close to her family, in fact they invite me for dinner often and I get invited to birthday events etc, They have done so much for me, and my son, that I will get them something small to thank them.0 -
I think it depends oh how close you are to them, do you still have contact with them and have a good relationship with them?..
I am still in contact with my ex's family and its me that gets invited to their family do's not him.Treat other's how you like to be treated.

He has never bought gifts for my family, I've always bought them.
I just don't know, I think this year I bought for everyone as I've always done manly for my children to have gifts to give. But I've been thinking its not just one or two it's for about ten people and I feel my children should give to grandparents/ great grandparents.0 -
I've not had any contact with his family since the break up, only his parents maybe a handful of times. I do feel as if they are all blaming me (it wasn't me).0

I havent bought anything from him particularly but I have bought gifts which I feel that he thinks are off all of us, him included.0 -

maybe its time you told him the gifts are from your kids and you, not him? I don't think you should give any kind of mixed message to anyone by labelling the gifts from all of you, including your ex.0
