did they actually take the money as in it shows up on a statement as it could well have been the 'authorisation payment' that reduces the balance of the account but will not 100% charge until the security checks are completed. Therefore putting back the authorisation payment back after a few days.
Moral of the story is to answer your phone to unrecognized numbers0 -

Companies tend to be very security conscious now. They contacted you, you chose not to answer and not to reply to their voicemail. Had they delivered the item and found out the card was stolen they would have been substantially out of pocket. I'd just move on.
Please read my points 3 and 4, after got the missed call, I have called to the cusomer care number, in which they have informed as the order approval process will take atleast 2-3 days. Why the customer care officer dont know about the security check. Also in my order acknowledgement mail, no where they have mentioned there will be a security check call to my mobile. On the other hand if I could have lost my mobile as well with the card, then Curry's will deliver the product.
I am not able to pick the call as I was in driving. It doesn't mean that I have chosen not to answer. Before answering be in my position as the customer then answer.
Even that is the case they could have suspended my order tempararily and inform to my mail. I wont lost my card, mail and my currys account everything altogether. They could have ask me to call back and after getting my call they can get my confirmation by calling my number again when I am available to contact.0 -
Hi cmsanthosh, I hear what you are saying, but someone tried to use my details to setup a Littlewoods store account last year - luckily, I picked up the phone to an unknown number which happened to store account fraud team at Littlewoods asking me confirm the set up of account... I of course declined and noted this was not me. Of course, this does not help you.
While I feel Currys have a lapse in their processes here (would be good if the correct people would read this to sort the issue... after all, they're losing money via customers not being able to process orders like this), I think your last resort is now something like the citizensadvice.org.uk, but I'm afraid they may just be as unhelpful as we have been. HOWEVER, by flagging it up with citizensadvice.org.uk, this issue could be used statistically to understand if this is a wider issue than just with you.My son is now an ‘entrepreneur’. This would of been a 'pre authorisation' to ensure that Curry's would be able to take the money upon security checks -> item processing. This is standard operating procedures. My son is now an ‘entrepreneur’. That’s what you’re called when you don’t have a job. – Ted Turner0
