Hi,
Yesterday (11-12-2011 @11:23 AM) I have ordered thru web, a TV in Currys which costs £799 (in web) and £949 (in store). While ordering I have given my user details with my mobile number.
Later I got couple of missed calls without any number. So I assumed it might be the call from Currys and I have called to the customer care number and asked for updates. The customer care officer told that my order will take atleast 2-3 days for approval process.
Today (12-12-2011 @4:10 PM), I have received a mail stating that my order is cancelled. I was shocked and asked with customer care number and they told that the Currys contact me to complete the security questions and as I have not lift my phone they left voice message with their contact number to call and I have failed to. Hence my order is cancelled. And also they told I can't place the order again with the same cost as they have removed the web exclusive offer.
My question is when I ordered thru internet they could have update these details in my order and ask me call back to the given number. How I can claim?
Regards,
Santhosh Kumar

Hi Santhosh,
Sounds harsh and I don't think you'll be able to claim... but they should take a look at their operating procedures and like you said, leave details on order to give a call back.My son is now an ‘entrepreneur’. That’s what you’re called when you don’t have a job. – Ted Turner0 -
Hi Lauren,
Thanks for the reply. As you said it sounds harsh. I agreed. Because I was affected. Just I am giving the points below. Then you please tell me whether the Currys are cheating or not.
1) I found the web exclusive price and I am placing an order thru web - 11-12-2011 @11:23 Hrs
2) Got the Order acknowledgement mail stating the below. But no where they have stated as they will call me to my mobile no for security check. and the amount £749.99 has been debited from my account as well
We will email you again when your order is confirmed. All orders are subject to stock availability.
3) I am getting a missed call from No Number on 11-12-2011 @ 17:11 Hrs
4) I have called back to Currys Customer care number on 11-12-2011 @ 17:39 Hrs and asked about the update, and they told your order has been placed. But the approval process will take atleast 2-3 days. They also not informed me as they will call me to my mobile no for security check.
5) Again I got the missed call from No Number on 11-12-2011 @ 18:55 Hrs
6) I am keep on checking the order status till 12-12-2011, it always says (even till now) "Your home delivery order will be delivered on Mon 12/12"
7) I got a mail on 12-12-2011 @16:10 Hrs stating that my order is cancelled, reason mentioned as "We regret to inform you that we are unable to fulfil your order."
8) Then I was shocked and called to Currys for the reason, and the said as they tried for Security check call to my mobile to make sure whether I have place order. The calls are not picked, Hence they cancelled the order
9) I have requested to reprocess the order as I was unable to pick the calls when they have called
10) But they refused to reprocess and told me that the offer not available now, you need to pay £150 extra.
Now you tell me is this the right way to deal the customers when they believe the shop and paid the amount.

santosh why don't you check on google shopping and amazon the model no. of telly you want you will almost certainly find it cheaper else where as currys are not always the cheapest.0

Just move on, not worth it. Blacklist Currys.0

Hey Santosh,
That sounds just terrible. I think in a market where buyer is the "king" you hold a great power. Just move on, Amazon, PC World or Dixons you have great options...0 -
Dear All,
My intension to post this forum is not to buy the same product with same price in Currys. I need this matter should be revealed and other customer should have the awareness of these kind of decent frauds by the big organizations as well. I am seeking for the justice on this matter to warn the companies and this will be helpful for all the customers in futures. No other companies will behave in this way.

Companies tend to be very security conscious now. They contacted you, you chose not to answer and not to reply to their voicemail. Had they delivered the item and found out the card was stolen they would have been substantially out of pocket. I'd just move on.0

Although it's worth noting they still took the money first then performed their security checks - not particularly helpful to the buyer.0
