£40 banked today - total is now £142
Not sure I will reach my target now unless I buy everything with a note and don't use my debit card. Today I changed a £5 note and got a £2 coin in my change and next shop I changed a £10 note and got 2 £2 coins in my change.
The only way I actually save money doing this challenge is if I only have a small amount of cash with me and if I have only £2 coins left in my purse then I won't spend them.

Beat my target a month early, so very pleased with that - without feeling any impact I have a nice amount for some extra Xmas treats. (Target £150, current = £182)

I also find paying with cash a great way to keep a lid on spending, it feels like parting with actual money when handing a note over. They seem to come in clusters - there's a shortage until a rush of people crack open their savings pots and the market is flooded with them again.pixiehouse wrote: »Only one this week!
