Compensation claim

I was recently in an accident and suffered whiplash I informed the insurance company dealing with my claim and they offered £1000 which after 2 days of pain seemed reasonable so I verbally accepted and they agreed to confirm their offer in writing. Everyone including my husband said I should hold out because my injuries might get worse and well I like money and the more the better. Is my verbal agreement binding? Or can I tell them I changed my mind?

No good relying on forum replies on a matter like this.
Maybe you should get a solicitor to sort this out properly for you!0 -

This says it all really! The loopy one has gone :j0 -
cheaper insurance I likeDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I suggest you wait 3 years to see if you have any lasting effects.Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0

I wouldn't give you or any of your ilk a penny, claiming for non existent injuries and forcing up my insurance premiums.
In fact, as football referees sometimes book or send off players who dive in the penalty area, I would give claimants a yellow card for potential insurance fraud and set the dogs on them with video surveillance etc. Then I'd whisk them straight in front of a judge to be sentenced to 5 years hard labour.0 -
" Well I like money and the more the better." Oh dear! Remember that the telephone call may have been recorded .....! If the company considers that you are attempting to overstate your injuries for financial gain you could find yourself on a very sticky wicket! And before a medical panel? And after that even before a judge?
Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive.....0 -

So everyone actually agrees with this, you just don't like the idea of the op getting it, what you really want to do is keep it for yourselves?0 -

It appears that a lot of the idiots that have responded on here clearly can't read. You say you "have suffered" whiplash and unfortunately I know this can be very painful and you are right to worry that your pain may get worse. As for liking money we all do and those disgruntled that have responded clearly would not claim anything if they were seriously hurt and entitled to compensation. My advice is speak to a solicitor and get some advice. I hope that your injuries get better soon and that thousand pounds offered still seems responable.... p.s hot baths can help!0 -

We don't know how long ago the accident was. If the OP suffered a bit of pain for two days, and nothing at all for the next two months, it might be stretching it a bit to assume that anything that crops up after that relates to the accident.
If, however, it's just 2 days since the accident, and the OP is still suffering some symptoms, then they may take a little longer to settle down (but not necessaily get worse).0
