Frustrating isn't it? Not quite sure how I've let things get this bad but in truth he always was a lazy s*d.

How lovely - I've always longed for a Belfast sink for the garden but I've never come across one yet. Still, I won't give up hope.

There's never any harm in asking if you spot something at the tip - after all the whole idea is to recycle as much as possible. And the worst they can do is say no. :)

I agree peaceandfreedom - can't believe i have to ask for help :o and then this is labelled as 'moaning' 'nagging' :( Gave in on something today and moved an item of OH's that has been sat out for over 5 months now! Still just say to myself *breathe* and be grateful i don't have to clean around it ;) My hairdresser came a few weeks ago and kept complimenting all the work my fella had done in the garden  Not sure what annoyed me more - the fact that she kept praising him for the garden when i'd done all the work or the fact that i pointed out to her twice that its me who does the garden not him and she carried on praising him. Obviously things didn't improve when she got bleach on my trousers and then scalded my head :( Really - i still paid as well :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: i do have to say and this may ring true for you as well whenever OH is talking about any work i've done with anyone he says 'we' - even though he's done nowt towards it :o

I got my sink off eb*y for a tenner - so its worth a look there if you are interested  And i will ask at the tip if i see anything - i have knocked on people doors and asked for stuff out of their skip - got some nice pots that way too :D

I think OH knows better than to claim 'we' about almost anything - especially the garden. Like your OH, he will take weeks to do anything. There is a certain job I've been waiting for him to do since last summer - it's still not done.

The hairdresser story is very funny to read but I don't suppose it was so funny to experience. :D[/QUOTE]

Have got some stuff out of other people's skips before - I have no shame! I may keep an eye out on ebay for a Belfast sink, though I don't want to part with much money. I am hoping that April can be a cheap month after March being so expensive. :o

    Hi Jwil

You haven't been around today so just wanted to say that I hope you are feeling better and that you had a good day. :)

I'm afraid I didn't list anything on ebay today, might try again tomorrow. :o

On the plus side, the celeriac seeds are finally germinating, thought it would never happen.

    Hi all

I agree - hope you are feeling better soon jwil ((hugs))

peaceandfreedom - i haven't listed anything 'new' today just done relists of 99p stuff - i've got quite a few things to re-list above 99p but i've paid for them to be listed once so they can wait for the free listing ;)

i did write a list of what i'll list tomorrow night though - got up to £65 worth of things to list if they all sell at the start price

Good your seeds are off now :D

Hey everyone, sorry I wasn't around, I had a migraine yesterday so was in bed most of the day :(

My Dh doesn't really do housework either.

I had a nice ebay sale on Sunday so was very happy about that :T I also had the second timewaster in as many weeks who decided they didn't want the item. Luckily I managed to get mutual cancellations from both of them

I relisted all my 99p items, and have got a few new things on, not hoping for much but every little helps as they say.

    Another £69 paid yesterday :T

Not sure I've got much else to report. Am in the middle of an assignment which I am  about, so hopefully will get that finished tonight. If I can scrape a pass I will be extremely happy.

    Hope everyone is ok :)

So glad you are feeling better jwil - i have had to take it easy today and feel very sorry for myself :o

    Anyways...

Woo - well done on the ebay sale jwil! :j - i have now had to issue another refund due to non-receipt  The person hasn't responded to say i can pass their details to royal mail but i'm not prepared to miss out on my money so i guess i'm just fine to go ahead and do this ?? I hope no-one thinks its my fault with these things as i package my items really securely and always include my return address - very grumbly about it!

Am sure you will do brilliantly with your assignment :)

I've got a few new things lined up to go on the bay of e later. I'm also really trying hard to get rid of some more things but this would pretty much be from my clothes - my 1 wardrobe is full and i am sure i don't *need* all the clothes in there. It would be nice to have a bit of space in amongst the clothes and i do need to be less attached to 'things' as well  it is hard though :o

Hope you feel better soon DDFW.

I never ask if I can pass the details on, I just tell them I'm going to report it to RM when I send the refund, so I'd just go ahead and do it. That's very frustrating though

Good luck with the listings, it can be a wrench finding things and deciding to get rid of them.

Darn it, there you go again - now where is that sunshine and holiday I ordered? Listen up, universe, JWIL NEEDS A HOLIDAY. There that should do the trick. :D

Hope you are feeling much better now and well done on the ebay sales and the payment you've just made.

Hope your assignment goes well - perhaps when you've slept on it your brain will have solved it all overnight. :)

Letting go of 'things' can be hard - I find letting go of some of the kids' stuff particularly difficult - but let's face it, this stuff can't hang around for ever can it? And I find that once they are gone, I don't tend to think about them again really. So it's not as if I miss the things when they're gone - in fact they were usually stashed out of sight cluttering up some dark corner, so why would I miss them?

I would say, DDFW, that if you sell some of your clothes, you won't notice that they've gone, as long as don't sell stuff you really do need. I know I've often found summer clothes that I put away for the winter several years before - I'd entirely forgotten I had them - it's like having new clothes all over again. :rotfl:But the point is, I didn't miss them.
  • This afternoon while working on my laptop, I heard an unfamiliar sound - it was raindrops on the window. I looked out amazed - I can't remember the last time it rained properly!

And just as I thought the garden would get a good soaking, it stopped again, having only deposited a feeble amount of water.

Tsk, I think I'll have to get the hosepipe out tomorrow.
