Thank you! I can't wait to have a job again. All I've done for the past week is calculate and recalculate my debt and budget and soa... It starts to drive you crazy after a while. Back on the MSE wagon though, and looking fierce
Haha. Good luck to you & jwil on this (and anyone else who joins us) !

If I follow correctly... pay off one debt in March by raising extra funds/doing overtime/etc?
If so, I'm in.
I've already cleared one of them this morning
But I'd really like to tackle the Mastercard next, so I aim to get an extra £150 cleared off the balance by the end of this month minimum. If I get the job that I'm hoping for, then I aim for £250 instead.
Yay, good to have you on board too.
Well done on clearing a debt though, fantastic :j:j
Good luck with the job too"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

And huge congratulations on clearing a debt in full :T:T:T
I had very little sleep last night and have been sat with a calculator and bank account for most of the morning - then going away and coming back to it in an attempt not to make a mistake. Now thats out of the way i can focus on here a bit - but i have to go out for a few hoursSo sorry if this is a bit fuzzy.
Minii - alot of that is right but i don't want it to be too big a pressure for everyone to clear 1 full debt although if you can that is the ultimate aim and is fantastic :j:j:j- the £2577 in my sig is an overwhelming amount - almost 3times my salary! So i'm commiting to paying that down by £1000 this month. Broken down into manageable 20 x £50 amounts. So i already pay £100 to it as a minimum payment each month so thats 2 of the £50 sorted out straight away. This is just an example to show we're all off the mark already as we'll all be paying the minimum payments anyway
Its a challenge to also encourage us to share ideas on how we make / save / stretch our money too
So i'll pop you down for £150 targetand i really have to go out now but what i'll do when i'm back is jot down what i have done today towards making this happen.
I have paid target 1 off today - except for the rotten interest that i'm waiting to hear back on then i'll close the account. As usual i don't feel great about clearing it - but maybe because its not fully paid off as yet? Or maybe because i cleared the balance once before but needed to use it for the new boiler
Well done on clearing Target 1 :T:T:T:T I guess it's always going to be a bit of an anticlimax, but I'm sure you'll feel better soon.
You can pop me down for £1k, who knows if I'll get anywhere near thatI don't have a minimum payment for mine, but I did pay something yesterday, so I'll count that.
Have a good afternoon!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

It does drive you mad after a while, though also can be strangely addictive!
Good luck to us all :j"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Right everyone, I've been mopey moperson for the last few days and have been really down about everything for some reason
.
I've decided that I'm going to take a couple of days off from everything, and then will get back to it with a vengeance.
That doesn't mean I'm not going to do *anything*, but I will only do it if I feel like it, and if it's not a chore. Just going to have a few days to myself.
I'll still be around, but just going to relax and get my debtbusting mojo back"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Good idea, have a lovely couple of days off from debtbusting. :j
Sometimes you just need a break from it all to recharge the batteries and get your enthusiasm back. And you haven't been feeling well lately, so your body is telling you to take a break.
Have a great time, Jwil. :beer:0 -

So you get the ideaHope some of you will join me
I'll give it a go! :j
I already direct my debt-busting at one target - currently the Cap1 Credit card in my sig. As there is 896 left on that, I'll put that down as my target for March but I can tell you that barring miracles, there is not much chance of me achieving it. Still, any extra repayments will help and I LOVE the idea of breaking it down into little chunks.
I'm going to have a think about different money-raising chunks but meanwhile, count me in, DDFW.0 -

Haven't been on for a couple of days due to car problems...grrrrr...ah well it will get sorted. Glad to hear that you are taking a break. You need that as its impossible to keep thinking money constantly. Makes you ill if you are not careful. Enjoy the break.:)"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S.
