Just a quick etiquette question when it comes to Eb*y feedback as the seller do you give feedback first or wait until the buyer gives feedback.

I always wait until I know the buyer is happy - either by messaging me or by leaving me feedback. As far as I am concerned the transaction is not complete until the buyer has received their item and is happy. I've had some numpties in the past and I'm glad I hadn't left them glowing feedback first!

    Hi Jwil,

I have just joined today: I am so sick of worrying about debt but feel a little better knowing I am not the only one. I will be following your thread with much anticipation, want to feel reassured that repaying your debt can be done x

I have quite a bit of debt, am on unpaid ML soon (2 children), husband out of work (again!), feeling overwhelmed with house as I feel it is cluttered and untidy, but just don't seem to be able to get it in order!!!! :o I feel everyday that all of the above are just contributing to me feeling hopeless! I want to be a perfect mother, wife, employee, human being....but feel totally swamped.

So looking forward to tips and to see how you are getting on and hoping it inspires me to knuckle down and get my life in order!!! If I could pay a fraction of what you paid off your debt I would be so happy x

    Best of luck!!!

Hi Talllgirl, welcome to the forums and I'm honoured that you posted on here first :)

One thing you will find from these forums, is that there is always a solution to a financial problem, it's never hopeless. It may not be easy, but you'll get there!

It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate, and sorry to hear that your OH is out of work, it's so tough out there at the moment. I can totally relate to feeling overwhelmed with everything, it does happen to me regularly too, and I don't have children, but I know how much work they can be.

You'll find lots of inspiration on the diaries, and there are lots of tips in the Old Style forum for helping with keeping food bills down and cleaning the house.

The easiest thing is to break everything down into smaller chunks - say do 15 minutes of housework and see what you can get done. Sort out one drawer, or list one item on ebay. It really helps, and even one small achievement makes you feel better.

Do hang around here, we all try and motivate each other :)

Today I have packed and posted a load of stuff for ebay and amazon, so that's a lot out of the house. It was not really a wrench getting rid of my collection, it was more a case of 'darn it, how am I going to pack this so it doesn't break' and 'aaarrrgghhh I'd forgotten I'd run out of large jiffy envelopes and boxes ' :rotfl:

I have however, remembered to bring my own lunch with me :T Some more amazon money has arrived in my account today so I shall try and pay something extra later.

  • Thanks Jwil,

I have taken a load of stuff to the charity shop today (although they wouldn't take books, I think they are a bit overwhelmd with them at the moment, so enquired at the Library and they will gladly take them!). Tidy son's bedroom and toybox downstairs, and I feel loads better. Thanks for the advice, bit by bit - things will get better gradually.

    Thanks!!!

I had lots of plans for today but haven't really achieved anything.

I got my assignment results yesterday for my :money: sponsored course - 90% :j:T:j I have no idea how that happened, and if I'm so good at darned personal finance why am I so skint? :rotfl:

I have redeemed a £10 amazon voucher from a survey site though, so very pleased. I also got one of the MSE giveaway books in the post today too so that's a nice surprise :)

I sold a book a while ago and posted it to an alternative address which is always a bit dodgy doing, but I was obviously feeling nice at the time. Well today it has been returned to sender  as no one of that name living at that address. However, as the buyer has suitably grovelled and given me the correct address, I will repost tomorrow.
