peaceandfreedom wrote: »Well done on the ebay sales everyone.
I have done a financial reconciliation today and had to buy myself a disgustingly sweet pastry to ease the stress of it.
Need to raise at least a couple of hundred quid in December AND January just to stay afloat. Have found some stuff that should sell pretty well on ebay. Have also gone out today and got refunds on some stuff (one faulty thing and a some small bits and bobs I should never have bought) so I am already £50 towards my target. :j
Have imposed strict budget rules on grocery buying for December - it's ridiculous how often and how much OH spends on extras every week, including bottles of wine. Now have a cash-only system and I want each receipt put into the pot so I can reconcile and keep account of it all. If he isn't earning any money, it's really not fair to spend money on booze all the time.
Now, I promised myself I won't keep moaning about OH but sometimes, I just can't restrain myself.
Planning for Christmas shopping is going quite well. My boy, bless him, has declared he needs nothing for Christmas so not to worry about buying him stuff. The girls want expensive stuff, 'twas ever thus. I have imposed limits though, and I can't even afford those.
Sometimes, I think I can't breathe through the stress of it all, I wonder if all this money strife will ever end, will OH ever get a job, will he ever DO anything, get ANY kind of get-up-and-go. Who knows?
Hmm, this post has turned out to be more negative than I intended but sometimes I feel I am carrying the world on my back, need to shake it off.
(Hugs) peaceandfreedom, I know how you feel having re-added up all my totals again this morning. I do wonder if I'm ever going to get back on track.
It must be so frustrating for you having your OH out of work and seemingly not making an effort to cut back at all.
Glad the Christmas planning is going well, and hope you manage to stick to your limits. Bless your son though, how sweet of him.

Not much to report from me really. I've got another £5 book sale to add to my total.
Annoying ebayers again though! Despite the fact that I listed my ink cartridges as empty in the title, listed them as 'for parts or not working', and in the description again clearly mentioned that they were empty - the buyer managed not to notice any of that. I've got another non payer as well which is frustrating.
I'm bruised to bits as well at the moment. Had to go and get some blood taken yesterday as the midwife couldn't do it. The nurse struggled as well, so I'm a bit of a pincushion and got a large bruise on my wrist where they finally managed to get it from. My arm is also swollen and sore from where I had my whooping cough jab the other day. The nurse said my lack of blood should make delivery easy so I'm hoping that's trueEven though I think I'm going to have a giant baby  I'm measuring big, though obviously that could just be because I'm big myself. However, DH and his brother were giant babies and neither me nor DH are small builds regardless of our weights. My sister who is tiny, also had giant babies too.
My car is in the garage tomorrow, so fingers crossed the bill is not too big.
My Kindle Fire arrived yesterday :T :T I used all my vouchers I'd saved up and DH paid the rest for my Xmas pressieI had a quick play last night as it was impossible to tell from the packaging whether we had the right one or not. I'm :smileyhea it already
But can't play properly until Christmas now.

Naughty, Jwil, now put that Kindle Fire away!
How annoying on the ebay sales thing but if your listing made it absolutely clear, do you have to refund the buyer?
Hope your bruise heals up quickly, it's not fun when they can't locate a vein, some nurses are more skilled at this than others. I hope your baby isn't TOO big - you have to get it out remember. It can be hard to tell really, but I guess a scan should be able to tell you - are you due to have another one soon?
Hope the garage bill is nice and low. Fingers crossed.
Have a nice day.0 -
Hi P&F - gosh you sound like you are having a tough and stressful time. I hope your OH's job situation gets resolved next year.
Jwil - exciting about the Kindle Fire. I'll just pop over to Amazon to take a look.....Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

It's away
The buyer didn't pay up, just waited a couple of days to tell me which is annoying. I cancelled the transaction and have got my fees back, but it's just the general hassle of it really. Just read the listing!!!!
I'm having a growth scan on Christmas eve so will have a better idea then. I think I'll then have another 4 weeks later to see how things are."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Well the good news is, it's only 2 tyres for the MOT :T Still an expense, but it could be so much worse. The mechanic can't find anything wrong either regarding the fault, and it's not registering on the computer so we are leaving it for the time being which is a relief as it all saves money.
That probably means a bill of about £150 which isn't the end of the world :j
Just got to sort my insurance now as was waiting for the MOT before doing that.
My non payer has paid up (though I've miscalculated postage by £2 again :mad) and I've sold a book, so have £7 to add to my total.

Yay, all good news for this sunny Friday. :j
And a scan on Christmas Eve - that's a nice early Christmas present.
I aim to get a few things listed on ebay this weekend on Buy it Now - because time is running out for Christmas! I need to be as diligent as you, Jwil.0 -

Good luck with the listings! It's apparently free listing this weekend, though I haven't seen anything official yet. Would be nice if they included BINs like they have recently. I'm not sure if I'll put anything new on, but I'll probably relist."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Just poppingin jwil...good to hear you're keeping steady..
Babies are usually the right:p size for the mum...nature is usually pretty clever! I had one CS and one VBAC so pros and cons with either approach I guess.
I am finding it hard to think about eBay at the moment..but do need to raid the loft for bits even if don't sell them for a bit.
Getting cold here but am resisting putting on the heating as much as possible. Snow forecast though I think:(

I'm trying to psych myself up to get some listings done. Writing this on here may guilt trip me into doing something!
The only money I have towards this month's challenge is £25 which has just come through from some late November auctions and I have redeemed a £25 Amazon voucher on SB. So that takes me to £49 after the Amazon book sale loss.
It's starting to get too close to Christmas for MSing. I've done a few phone calls this week, which were all nice easy 2 minute jobs. No more MS booked in.
I haven't done any Christmas shopping or written any cards.
Oh dear, there is a recurring CBA theme in this post! Need to find some Christmas spirit
