Well I've got a car boot full of parcels to drop off at the sorting office, they are going to love me
It's an awful lot leaving the house though so I'm not complaining :j
I've got a few more items selling today so that's good.
I haven't actually withdrawn an awful lot from those sales which is a shame, but some of it (£35) I sent to DH as it was half his, and a good proportion I used to pay my fees (£50 ) which were also from last month too as I had forgotten to cover them then.
Despite all that, I've still withdrawn £24 so am happy overall.
I sold a book on amazon yesterday so that's good too"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
hellooo everyone,
sounds like eby has been good for you. I listed a few things with a target in mind and now one of those things has reached my target alone and I am wondering if I have listed it properly so I keep checking but yes I have - maybe I just started off too cheap
I may have to travel to Europe later this week to take my mother to visit an elderly aunt that is having major surgery so need to sort out a lot of stuff this week just in case.
Hope you all have a good week.0 -
Hi jwil,
Hope you don't mind me interrupting and being nosey but Ive been reading your diary and noticed your targets a few posts up. Am I right in thinking you sell magazines? I've lads of back issues of a popular home mag and I'm just wondering now whether I could sell them onProud to be dealing with my debts :T

Great news about your ebay sales Lam - I always get nervy when something goes for more than I expect.
Hope everything goes well for your Aunt."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Hey Money mayhem, of course I don't mind, I like visitors
I don't tend to sell magazines - most of the ones I have are ones which have been passed on to me to look at so are not in good enough condition. I tend not to read them very quickly so they pile up. My target is for me to flick through them and then recycle them.
I would have a look at completed listings of the magazine you have and see whether they sell. I'm not sure there's a huge market in magazines as the postage can be quite high, but believe some do sell well.
Good luck if you do decide to sell them, and do pop in again"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hello everyone, reporting in after the weekend.
Jwil, you sound like you've done very well on ebay, well done.
Brizzle, you are so right, ebay can be a strange unpredictable place. All but 2 of my items sold over the weekend, the two that didn't, well I didn't expect them to sell. But the prices I got for the other stuff varied a lot from what I expected.
I did OK overall but I am unhappy with myself for starting things too low and they get just one bid. I had hoped that I would get a few bids for them. As a result, I have made tiny profits on some things, so I am a bit cross. I should know better at this stage. My mistake was not running the items + postage through my profit calculator spreadsheet to make sure I had the correct starting price.
On the positive side, I have made a profit of over £63 altogether, so I am reasonably pleased. Also, as you say Jwil, that's lots more stuff out of the house never to be seen again, hooray. :j
I did a lot more work in the garden over the weekend, it's looking good in patches, very bad in other patches - it's a never-ending job but I love it. Loads of decorating to tackle indoors now, really really need to get started on that. :cool:0 -

Well done on your sales P&F, it's frustrating when things don't go for as much as you hope isn't it.
I did my clever trick about messing up the postage again, but I did make a huge profit of 20p this time, so at least didn't give it away :rotfl:.
The post office did indeed love meI went in, dumped the first lot on the floor and then had to go out for more. They were a bit _pale_ :rotfl:
I've had a surprising flurry of bids on stuff today :T 9 items selling tonight, all of which have been relisted umpteen times!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

How fabulous. :T
20p is not great but better than giving it away as you say.Thing is, I don't think it's worth bothering unless there is a profit of at least 3 quid and preferably a fiver. A couple of my items raised less than 1 pound profit, which is ridiculous and entirely my own fault.

Morning Jwil
You are doing well at the ebay. Never worry too much about the post office. Its people like us that is keeping them open. Our local one was telling me that there are so many people doing ebay every day so they are glad of the custom. I listed only 5 items last night but its 5 that will finish at the weekend. So need to get going tonight."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis
