I also *faints* got 53% in my rubbish assignment :T :T Still not sure about how I managed that as even the tutor's comments said it was rubbish
Well, I'm sure they didn't say it was rubbish exactly ...... 53% is a great result, considering you thought you'd completely messed it up. Well done, Jwil. :T0 -
Hi everyone
jwil - as you said you'd be happy to get some marks and you got over 50% so well done on what was clearly a hard piece of work to complete - you know if you're ever struggling you can ask us on hereNot that i'll necessarily be of any help mind but you never know eh?
Ooh the return of LAM and ebayqueen :T - LAM hope your horse is much better soon xx
Peaceandfreedom my fellow greenfingered chumI have weeded an entire area of the garden today  Its not a huge area but the weeds - well mainly the dandelions and ivy - were fighting back  Had to get rid of the ivy before it damaged the wall again  - its the climbing stuff that seems to cover the house in a day without you noticing - its not growing in our garden actually but sneaking in from the neighbours i noticed. I did feel weeding wasn't terribly rewarding mind but once i'd got every bit up, raked, swept the areas next to this one i must say it looked alot better :T
I've prepped another area for weeding tomorrow so will hopefully get 2 big areas all done and clear :T and then move some pots about too
With the areas that i'm going to weed after this i kinda feel less motivated - partly because there are lots of tiny weeds in there and also because i know i want to move some of the big shriubs around in there - did some last year and can now see how it'd be better with some more moving too but will need to wait until winter really when they've died down a bit so they've more chance of survival

Thanks guys
Nice to see you again Lam, hope the horse is better.
My internet connection is REALLY playing up tonight  I couldn't get on this morning, but at least this evening have managed to get on long enough to print postage for a couple of ebay items.
Majorly messed up the postage on one of my good sale items too  I didn't lose out, but I haven't now got as much for the item as I'd hoped. Oh well, not sure how I managed that one "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". We've all done that with postage cost jwil - it can't be helped - the positive is that at least you are still making some money and that it is still an item gone so try not to beat yourself up over it too much as i know how frustrating it is.
Grr! to troublesome internet connection
Well i didn't get the weeding done - i had a walk earlier was in a real harrumph! of a mood didn't take my brolly and got home completely drenched lovelyI have worked on the garden in the rain many times but i was just in such a glum mood i abandonned the garden today. I guess the weeds aren't going anywhere though !

Hi Jwil
As DDFW says we have all experienced that on ebay. At least it is gone and you have some money for it. How is the rest of your ebay and amazon going? I sold a book over-night so that is another few pounds on its way.
Jwil...what does the 2 figures in your signature mean? Sorry if I sound dumb.

Sorry to hear you got soaked. Be careful as you don't want to end up ill again. Never worry about the garden and the weeds in it. Old saying around here 'they will still be there when I am pushing up the daisies':):)

Well done. Weeding is hard work but it's worth it - often after clearing a bad area, I get a nice surprise every time I see it, just as you found. You know you've done a good job when you can see the difference with a quick glance into the garden. :TDedicatedDFW wrote: »Your raised beds sound fab! Did you build them yourself?
I dug up the ground and weeded it, and then DH built the beds. They are fairly rough-looking because the ground is not even and they are made of old wood, but they will be largely hidden from view once I've finished that whole area. This week I am heading up the lane to where there is a massive stockpile of horse manure and I'm going to take home enough to put plenty in each bed.
Can't wait to get planting but the weather is so cold at the moment. Just have to be patient but there's lots of other things to be getting on with.0 -

These things happen, we've all done it. You do so much ebaying, there's bound to be one or two that don't go totally right.
Our internet connection has been rubbish this week as well - weird that. I've reset the router several times in an attempt to kick it into life. :mad:0 -

Gardening in the rain is not fun - especially when it's as chilly as it has been lately. If it's raining, I mainly potter about in the greenhouse or don't go out at all. You need to take care of yourself, DDFW, and don't get a chill.
There's always stuff to get done and it'll all get done sooner or later.0 -
Hey everyone
See my internet connection was that good last night, I double posted
It wasn't working this morning either, but seems to be ok tonight thankfully.
Loving all the gardening talk people, you haven't yet managed to inspire me :rotfl: Feel free to come and do mine
ebayqueen - the two numbers in the signature are the first two targets I'm aiming for. One obviously has gone the wrong way this monthbut I'm hoping to rectify that next month. The other one hasn't moved either. Oh well, it will improve.
Anyway, I managed a huge £4 payment today :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
