Clarkes shoes

Bought some Clarkes shoes for my toddler about 3 months ago, which he's been wearing almost every day, had no problem with them until this week when some of the stitching came undone. They were also quite scuffed (climbing frames!).
Took him back to the store to get him some new shoes, told the assistant about the stitching and she immediately went to have a word with the manager who said they would replace them no problem. I didn't even have a receipt. Also got £2 back as his new shoes were cheaper than his old ones.
I was very impressed as I hadn't expected anything back and had assumed I'd have to buy him a new pair. Full marks to the store manager.

Yes Clarks are good, and as they get older I think they guarantee that the fit should last the child for a certain no. of months before being outgrown. As long as you have it fitted in a Clarks shop. I have been able to change boys' shoes which have been worn for a little while but have then caused corns.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I bought my daughter a pair of 'Kickers' from Clarkes, they cost a fortune & after 3 month or so the stiching came undone. We took them back & they reluctantly gave us a re-fund. :-/Shaz xx

I too had a good response from Clark's shoes.
Bought my youngest a pair of shoes, worn for over a week (he's four, so well worn would be a better description)
He kept tripping, so I popped back into shop to ask if they had any suggestions. They re-measured and after much discussion decided he needed smaller witdh than he had. They replaced them free of charge.
Many companies could take a leaf out of their book regarding customer services. I found them most helpful and the end result more than satisfactory.0 -
As a rough guide Clarks will do a straight exchange on any childrens shoes within 3 months IF they are faulty. If it is over 3 months then they usually check to see if your childs feet have grown. If they have grown then you've been feeding them too much
. You will usually get a part credit towards a new pair if your childs feet have grown. I'm sure you are aware that you should keep your receipt!?! BECAUSE Clarks will change your childs shoes if they have outgrown within the 3 months.
This is only a guideline that the stores follow.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
The service at clarkes is superb.
Went in last week which of course is the busiest time of the year for them, was seen within 10 mins v helpful did not rush us even though there was a load of poeple waiting. Still cheked fit properly .
A great expereince which could of been a nightmare if they had not been so professional0 -
Wish Startrite gave the same growth guarantee. When my child was young I had to buy Startrite as her feet were extremely narrow and Clarks didn't do such a narrow width. Anyway her feet seemed to grow monthly. By the time she was 5 she was in size 2. Thankfully they slowed down then and only grew 2 sizes in the next 4 years.

I too love clarkes shoes, unfortunatley for 4 young uns to buy for it can get a bit expensive. fortunately theres a girl nearby who sell them for £5 a pair (slight seconds, but u'd never know the difference) she buys in bulk from a warehouse and has an open house on Monday evening, house is packed out but you pick up some bargains ;DNobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

Took my daughters shoes back to Clarks today as the buckle had snapped. She got them about 2 and a half months ago, but I didn't have a receipt. They exchanged them for a pair of boots and I just had to pay the £3 difference.
Thanks to this board because without it I would probably have put them in the bin as I would not have thought they would exchange them and at this time of year I certainly could not have afforded £25 for a new pair.0 -
Great info about kids' shoes, but does anyone know if the above applies to adults' Clarks shoes, in any way of form? I got a pair of their shoes and they must be the most uncomfortable pair ever (would never expect this from Clarks!); however, I got them over a month ago and it says on the receipt you can only return them within 30 days
These ones were £49.99 originally (I got them in a sale) but I haven't worn them as they were absolutely killing me! Any ideas/experiences, anyone?

Hi Doormouse,
I work for Clarks. You do only have 28days to return your unworn shoes. If the shoes were full price your local store would probably exchange them for you as a goodwill gesture. As they were sale shoes it is unlikely that the store will do anything as the sale has now ended and your shoes would have been reduced further by now anyway so the store would lose money by taking them back.
