I have had a response from the landlady in relation to this as well who is not at all impressed with what she has seen.
I am requesting some improvement be made and hopefully, in time for the next inspection, there will be a different outcome on the report."

Who needs a fully detailed inspection after three months?? They now have 25 digital photos of every inch of our home! The report even states that there is no damage and it is completely clean. Time for some angry letters.

Whilst I sympathise with you, I had a colleague who rented and they were never very tidy, didn't bother to tidy up for inspections. They grumbled that they were always having to move every six months....... I did wonder whether the state of the place at inspections had something to do with it.

  • Considering that bloody oaf barged his way in and didn't allow the OP to do the tidying up she wanted to do I'd be absolutely fit to be tied after that completely insulting letter. They sound like my mother. And the fat farts sent the photos to the landlady. For what, so they could discuss the colour of the discarded bath-towel on the bed. Eff'em!

However, I suspect that self-restraint might be the better course of action for the moment.

Blood pressure B&T!;) I do agree that LA appears to be an utter rhymes with cat The LL is also probably an amateur who wants someone in place paying off their mortgage but can't let go enough for a T to treat the place as home.

It's perhaps one of those "type a letter setting out exactly what the LA can go do with himself and then post it in the fireplace" occasions initially. OP - an "angry letter" doesn't tend to have as much effect as an icily polite one, sent later, which calmly shows that you as the Ts are aware of the legalities and won't be intimidated by this LA. LA is clearly on a power trip - I wouldn't give him the pleasure of an early response, least of all one which shows that he has upset you. Let the LA stew until the new year and try to have a good Xmas break :)
  • I could spend a merry fortnight composing and editing an icily sarcastic retort to that gross insult from that berk of an LA.

My blood-pressure's fine although I admit I was a tad indignant on the OP's behalf. The cheek of it!
  • Yup - wrote an angry letter, let it all out, and then filed it away without sending. It helped!

Can't wait for the new year when I have time to unpack, but it will be on *our* terms. The LL and agency can pee off.
  • And change the locks.
Then access is on your terms.
