Looking for a Nokia with a good reminder system

I am currently on Virgin PAYG and spend about £5 a month. So no point in me getting a contract. What I really want in a phone is a good reminder system. The one that came with my Nokia 2600 is crap. It can hold only a small number of reminders and you cannot set up recurring functions, like having a regular reminder to go off every day/week/month at the same time.

I just upgraded to a Motorola W375 and I hate it. The phone itself is very nice, and it has a better reminder system (though no snooze function, which I miss!), but I liked the feel of the buttons and the user interface better on the Nokia. So I'd like to go back to Nokia for my next phone.

Would every Nokia have the same basic calendar function? If so, what phones would let me install my own organizer software? Any suggestions?

  • As you've probably seen from other posts, I use a Nokia 6630. This is a 'smartphone', and many phones are now (they can also be called 'symbian' - the biggest operating system of smartphones, or 'windows mobile based' - I've owned one of these as my first smartphone, they're usually restricted to the SPV series on Orange).

Once you have a smartphone, you can synchronise it with Outlook. Mine reminds me of appointments and birthdays recurring each year by connecting it to your PC using the included cable (or buying a bluetooth dongle). On a smartphone, if you don't like the reminder software that comes with it, you can download other clients on the phone - it is the same as installing a program on a computer in many ways.

It is an older model but I found the Nokia 6320 (assume 6320i would be the same) very good for the calendar function. I used it a lot and set up many reminders every week and some that were also recurring. You can set it so an alarm goes off or it is just silent. I would think that most of the new decent Nokias would also have this function though.

6630 - I got it for the same reason - it's almost like a PDA. Excellent phone.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

Thanks. That's exactly what I needed to know.
