So I want a Galaxy Nexus - the new 'Google' phone

But I'm on T-mobile and they're not offering it.

Contract expires in a few days - do I just shop around and find the best deal?

Is there any point in contacting T-mobile at all?

Thanks!

Depends really - do you want to stay with them preferably? If so, call them up and see what they say - it may be they haven't got them in yet.

If you don't mind, then just shop around. I would recommend Phones 4U - I just got my new contract with them and their prices were the best I could find.

You can't get the Galaxy Nexus direct from t-mobile at the moment, but you should be able to get it via a reseller. Just depends whether you want the faff of PAC'ing your number out and then back to t-mobile to get a deal with them.
Just did a quick search and the best I could find using t-mobile was this http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus/T-Mobile/T-Mobile-30-(24mths)-inc.-Internet/12032144
Don't know what the company is like though.

Thanks. When you say PACing number out etc, that just means opening another contract with T-mobile via the reseller and PACing my current one over (and closing the original contract)?

Or have I got the wrong end of something?

PS: Would prefer to stay with them as simpler. Plus I'd really like to get the unlimited landline calls in somehow - it's really useful to me.

Are you sure you want it? No card slot...

    £279.47 sim-free at prepaymania.

Give them a call. They can offer other phones that they don't offer on their site. They used to do this for some customers who wanted an iPhone before they officially carried it. You can't usually move your number if you open a new contract with the same supplier. If you really want to keep your number then you could transfer your number to a pay as you go sim on another network and then PAC it back out to your new t-mobile account.

Thanks. Seems like buying via reseller, but staying with same network (and number) is not altogether straightforward.

Will call T-mobile in the first instance.

NB: Don't care about microsim as a) rarely remove mine b) 16GB storage is fine for me...

    £279 is a great price. I can only see it at: £530 - http://www.prepaymania.co.uk/mobilephone/samsung-galaxy-nexus-i9250-sim-free-unlocked-mobile-phone.html

You are looking at Galaxy Nexus, not Google Nexus. This mess they created with names is very confusing indeed.

Only now I noticed that the OP was probably confused too:

But the OP wants the latest Nexus doesn't he? The £279 phone runs 2.x and not ICS.

Yes, that's right... I'm after the newest phone.

They COMPLETELY gaffed with the names. SOOO confusing...
