Cashback contract - possible to add on Blackberry services

A family member is coming to the end of her mobile contract and - as usual! - it's falling to me, the mobile cashback guru for our family, to source a new deal. There seem to be plenty of these available; other than the fact that in this case she has a Blackberry, and the new contracts - mostly Orange - include standard data packages and I'm aware that with Blackberries you need to have a special Blackberry services addon.

What I need to know is if I take out a new contract for her with Orange, which would come with an instantly ebayable handset, then if we were to use the SIM in her Blackberry would it be possible to ring up Orange and simply ask them to add Blackberry services on to the contract? Or would they raise a problem because the contract had been sold attached to a non-Blackberry handset?
