Give her a break, she's a young girl.

As a young girl who owns a brand new car and with insurance costs rocketing, surely its not unreasonable for a mechanic to think it was the mother that was the owner?
Anyway, I find it rather typical of today's society that whenever there's a misunderstanding or an error on someone's part, instead of focussing on the issue at hand, go on the internet to see if you can get compensated!

I am sorry you are dealing with this problem, Personally i think you can claim the compensation in moral.Firstly they can't believe the car's problem you have told ,if i were you i would contact dealer and request the compensation more or less, they are fault after all .

I think this is the best advice here. :rotfl:
  • surely any dealer would offer a curtesy car whilst your 5 month old car is in to be checked?

are you prepared for them to come back and say the clutch failure is your fault due to you riding it or impropper use.

call the manufaturers uk hq customer relations team if they have one, tell them your not a happy bunny for a first time purchase of their brand and see what happens. eventhough your car is now being dealt with (BTW new vehicles dont usually have the parts available on the shelf and can take a while for them to come from stores abroad) your not happy about thier customer service and they way the have handled your problem, if you e-mail them from their website quote any refurence given to you from past report sheets and the garage adress contact info and as many names as you remeber that they gave you on handing the car over to you and who's dealing with it now, ask them why you werent offered a curstesy car,or collect and drop off, and is a 60 mile trip justified for checking a fault is present.

Hello I'm not sure I'm posting in the right place!!

I bought a brand new car ( not posting the brand in case they see!) from a franchised dealer. It's a 11 plate top spec car that I love!

About 5 weeks after having the car I was noticing a lot of loss of power on the clutch when I was on hills or the car in front slowed down or turned off the road.

I took the car straight in to the dealers and told them the problem one of the mechanics came out and took it for a road test and felt the fault fab I thought left the car with the dealers the next day I had a phone call they couldn't find the fault come and pick up your car.

Then about a week later the same fault was happening I wrote down what happened with the car to have this problem they still said nothing was wrong!!!!!!

I took the car in on Wednesday and on Thursday I had a call to say again we can't find the fault this is after a mechanic took my car for a 60 mile motorway trip after I said this was not where the fault happeneds!!! I took the mechanic out and showed him the clutch slipping and the burning and the juddering.

He then said oh yeah your right. The car has now gone in for over a week for a new clutch and a fly wheel exactly what I said the first time the bloody car went into the garage!!!!

The car is on finance. I pay £254.89 per month for it. This problem has been present for 4 months and I have had the car 5 months.

My problem is they ignored me as I feel I'm a young girl and they all looked down on me. For example when I took my mum in as I had to get a lift to the garage they spoke to my mum and not me when I'm the bloody owner I pay for it it's in my name I picked it myself I drive it I clean it I fill it with petrol!!!!!!!

Can I claim any kind of compensation?

    Thank you

be prepared to deal with this kind of ignorance a million times over

i have lost count of the amount of arrogant men i have had to remind it is MY car

i went to book the taxi in for a service a few weeks back at the main dealers and the whole time i was there he spoke to the guy who was with me (who is actually my driver and we were doing a few things together that day, he came in as arranging times to suit both him and i was easier when we were both there) 3 times i said to the service MANAGER who happened to be on the desk when we went in 'it is MY car' i was booking it under the name MRS x xxxx - when we went to collect it he did the same thing again and explained to my driver that it was needing front brake pads and launched into his speil about cost etc etc - i let him finish then calmly asked him if he could now tell ME that information as it was MY car :rotfl:
