Can I claim something?

Hello I'm not sure I'm posting in the right place!!

I bought a brand new car ( not posting the brand in case they see!) from a franchised dealer. It's a 11 plate top spec car that I love!

About 5 weeks after having the car I was noticing a lot of loss of power on the clutch when I was on hills or the car in front slowed down or turned off the road.

I took the car straight in to the dealers and told them the problem one of the mechanics came out and took it for a road test and felt the fault fab I thought left the car with the dealers the next day I had a phone call they couldn't find the fault come and pick up your car.

Then about a week later the same fault was happening I wrote down what happened with the car to have this problem they still said nothing was wrong!!!!!!

I took the car in on Wednesday and on Thursday I had a call to say again we can't find the fault this is after a mechanic took my car for a 60 mile motorway trip after I said this was not where the fault happeneds!!! I took the mechanic out and showed him the clutch slipping and the burning and the juddering.

He then said oh yeah your right. The car has now gone in for over a week for a new clutch and a fly wheel exactly what I said the first time the bloody car went into the garage!!!!

The car is on finance. I pay £254.89 per month for it. This problem has been present for 4 months and I have had the car 5 months.

My problem is they ignored me as I feel I'm a young girl and they all looked down on me. For example when I took my mum in as I had to get a lift to the garage they spoke to my mum and not me when I'm the bloody owner I pay for it it's in my name I picked it myself I drive it I clean it I fill it with petrol!!!!!!!

Can I claim any kind of compensation?

Thank you

you can claim for any actual losses but it seems your grump is more to do with hurt feelings about the way you were treated rather than anything else.

If you feel you were treated inappropriately then by all means stick a compliant in, you probably won't get any cash but hopefully words will be had which might prevent a recurrence

Wy did you take your mother? Sounds like you did, to have someone with more experience which the garage recognised and therefore addressed her. Perhaps a little annoyin and you should have picked them up at the time if it was an issue.

If I were you I'd be writing a letter of complaint purely to inform the management of the experience had with their staff, as opposed to hoping to get anything out of it. All you should require out of it, unless you are out of pocket through their fault, is the hope that any issues you have in future will be rectified in a more efficient and timely manner. I would advise you keep any letter courteous, respectful and also factual. You don't want to make false accusations or be rude, and then have them hold a grudge against you.

My wife picked me up from the garage tonight when I dropped my car off for a service. She didn't come into the service reception to hold my hand...

She'd rather sit out in the cold than be seen out with you?
