i have also heard from a vet that it takes 3 days of being strict for a cat to change its food if you simply switch it over and he doesn't like the new stuff. not sure if thats true as i have always only introduced food slowly.
i Hills Science Diet - its expensive and only available from the vet...not very MSE...
Do you mean Hill's Prescription Diet? Science Diet has been available at places like Pets at Home and Zooplus for years.
Prescription Diet used to be more difficult to get hold of, but even that is now available online quite easily, in fact I think Pet Supermarket has offers on it at the moment0 -

yes thats the one! i've hauled a bag of mine out of the cupboard and am comparing it to the one on pet supermarket....they are similar but not the same. Mine has Veterinary stamped on it and doesn't have a flavour. its 1.5kg. The variants on the site are 2kg and come in a variety of flavours for different types of cats/ailments.
I think it must be a con though - i am sure the supermarket ones are probably just as good but by stamping Veterinary on it and tweaking the wrapper they can sell it exclusively and charge you more!
i would love to buy a 10kg bag of it as its much cheaper but my little princes won't eat it when it goes stale...0 -
I feed Applaws dry fod to my two and they love it.
I would avoid Iams lke the plague.
Today is the last day for registering, but you can get 2 free vouchers to try cat food from Pets at Home here: https://www.petsathome.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Info_10601_crown-super-premium_-1_105510 -
also if you want to feed applaws dry food remember you can get the exact same food in sainsburys but it is renamed encore - it is also cheaper in sainsburys (encore) than pets at home (applaws)0

My two absolutely love Encore, had the tins first as they were on special in Sainsbo 6 for £3 but now you can get a multi pack of pouches 2 x 8 for £7. I am not sure they are exactly the same as one of them turned his nose up at one flavour. Cats they are fuzzy aren' they.
I feed mine Royal Cannin Maine Coon and they love that never get bored with that. Again dont buy that at PAH 10kg bags online are much cheper. Use Kelkoo and Quidco to find the cheapest and get cash back.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I posted a thread the other day about applaws dry, it is currently reduced at Pets at Home. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
