Virgin Media - moving home during contract

What's the current situation with Virgin Media if you need to move home and you are still in contract with them? If you have cable services and they can't be provided in the new place, is that a free get out?
I am thinking of signing up to the Simplify Digital Virgin 30 Mbps broadband with £150 cashback offer but I see it's an 18 month contract and I don't know if we will be in the property for that long.

No you agreed to a contract at your address for x amount of months, if you break the contract you have to pay to get out it0

Does anyone know if it's possible to sign up to phone + broadband on a 12 month contract?
It seems broadband only can be had on 12 months, but if you want phone too you have to go with 18 months. Is it simply a case of asking them nicely?0 -
I have a query regarding this too... Except when I do move house, it'll be into a property that can receive Virgin Media.
Has anyone had any experience of putting their account on 'hold' for a month or so whilst moving? It's just when I DO move, I won't be moving into my property straight away, and would feel annoyed at paying for a month when I'm not using the service. I'm not trying to get out of paying for a month, i'd simply add an extra month onto the end of my contract... Is this do-able?£2012 in 2012 - 0/20120 -

No,you'll be liable to pay for the ramainder of the contract. The might charge you a lower package rate at a push.Does anyone know if it's possible to sign up to phone + broadband on a 12 month contract?

Doubtful, the contracts are set so unless they do a special offer for new customers on a shorter contract although chances are the long contract id worked out between VM & Simplify Digital so they can recoup some of the cashback thru the longer contract.I have a query regarding this too... Contract would carry on while you are absent,I can't recall hearing of a customer doing what you're wanting to do.0
