OH is your partner then. ok seriously has he ever wrote to them admitting the debt/paid anything. if not then its statute barred and you just need to send them a letter off this forum telling them. if your not covered by the barring then you should be fighting the loan. as you have question the debt it should not be being chased untill its resolved. don't treat it lighthearted he is getting away without paying off the 4k and what would be at least another 4k in fees and related intrest. so he has been very lucky if there is no court action related with the debt.0
