  • Well in that case without looking at your car I would guess its this one (looks like a dog bone)
sorry unable to post links sogo to eurparts and put your reg in and look the part up that way
You can put in your reg yourself and check.
Also on a side note it would be wise to get this sorted asap as it will split your exhaust manifold when pulling away (poor design).

Your mechanic told you what the problem is, so why don't you simply let him do the job for you?

Do you really think that he needs some pretty pictures!

  • its a diy job for anyone TBH. ebay has plenty and you can check your type with the pictures i gave you to purchase one.

i really is a case of chok back wheels with a brick, jack up car on passenger side, remove passenger tyre and place under the chassis, axle stands or solid bricks to support the vehicle if it ever dropped, shimmy under car locate the mount undo three bolts with a 17mm socket or spanner, slide out mount and replace in reverse instruction put back together in reverse and drop vehicle to floor. all done.

in garage conditions put on ramp, undo three bots slide and fit, all of 5 mins maximum to wich youll pay a minimum of 1 hours labour.

My mechanic is cheap and cheerful, im not saying he doesnt know what he is doing at all. As he works out of a small unit hes not like a big garage owner. Now with my mechanic he can tell me what the prob is, I can say, ok ill drop it off in a day or 2 and get you the bit.

The good thing about this is.

A: I get the bit for less that 50% of the price a 'genuine garage' would charge.

B: I dont get ripped off.

C: I sleep well that night.

The pictures were for your benefit, not so that you could insult your mechanics intelligence by telling him which part he needs to get.

If you can get the part so cheap then do it yourself.

If however you buy the wrong part yourself or the fault turns out to be something different, how will that save you money?

Mechanics do make some money getting the parts from their trade counter and if you present him with a part to fit, his labour charge is likely to be higher to make up for the profit that he would have made getting the part from his supplier.

Would you supply a central heating boiler and then expect the installer to fit if for you - same principal.
