thanks for the hugs but i think jac and dazi deserve them rather than me
The grand thing about hugs is they're not rationed; so there's more than enough for everyone who could use one. I could very easily say I don't deserve them; gods know, I'm not the nicest person on the planet, by a long chalk; but I'll accept them if they're offered (online at least - I don't do physical contact in RL);)

    Morning all!

Went out again yesterday, we fun and I have no hangover. Made drunk egg and beans on toast when we got in, so tidying up needs to be done! OH is still in bed. Pup has developed an obsession with licking the sofa, so need to try and get him out that...he likes the texture lol.
Firstly, what is drunk egg and beans, please? Second, is Pup licking in just one place? It might be worth applying something he doesn't like the taste of to the area, and see if that puts him off. Just a thought.:o

LW I think 'drunk' refers to the state of the chef rather than a new twist on Egg & Beans!

Chocolate chip cookies, iced christmas biscuits and 2 trays of cupcakes made, present hampers put together for all the out-laws and sitting prettily under our tree that we put up yesterday. DD is not playing happily with a couple of cardboard boxes and all the kids have been bathed.

i'm going to make dinner now (cottage pie) and then I can bung it in the oven later....then I am going to sit on my ample behind and what a cheesy film :D

    Welcome newbies x
((((Hugs)))) to JackieG, Dazi and anyone else who wants one x

I'm having a lazy day, need one after being non-stop for last 3 weeks (or 7 if you count my holiday!). I slept til 8am, then stayed in bed reading my Kindle til 10am :). Since then I've been slowly pottering round and doing bits n bobs.

My friend/colleague is popping round later to drop off some stuff I need to take to work for her (she is based elsewhere at mo) so we will have a cuppa and a natter then :). And looking forward to the Strictly results show, but couldn't care less bout the X Factor final! It has been carp this year.

OS wise - clothes mountain put away (at last! :o), sorted through my old magazines and cut out some recipes, need to use up some veg in fridge as I'll be away with work for 3 nights this week so think I'll make a veggie curry.

    Have a good day all

  • OK, I'll try again - just lost a post!!

    Hello everyone and welcome newbies.

We had a lovely night last night at DH's works Christmas do, only 8 of us but was at local hotel with loads of other Christmas do's so didn't feel lonely!! :rotfl:At least it was lovely until disaster struck and the zip on my dress went - it wasn't even tight and I didn't eat that much  It will have to go back next week, luckily I still have the receipt - but will they compensate me for sitting for an hour draped in my shawl sweating like I was having a very, very hot flush and then leaving before everyone else because I felt so embarassed ????

Anyway things get betterer and betterer, work tonight feeling full of cold :o Never mind, DH making lovely lamb dinner to cheer me up - he is a sweetie.

Huggles to all who need/want them.

    Jan xx
  • So far so good
One load of washing drying on the airer, another in washing now. Tidied and hoovered through, cleaned and mopped bathroom and kitchen.
Made food with dd (spaghetti bolognese and chilli) for the week ahead, and even managed a rice pudding and a tray of flapjacks with stuff from store cupboard.
Quite pleased with myself. Still on track for a nsd.

    Hi all,

A quick visit that I can just squeeze in between church services and the drop-in centre. A bit murky here today but it doesn't affect me as I don't have time to go out or stand looking out of the window.

Didn't manage to clear or clean anything yesterday and certainly no cards written. Nothing likely to happen today either. Ah well, tomorrow..........

Lou: I'll just agree with Bitsy. Chuck out the sackcloth and ashes my girl, you know how much we all care about you. Give yourself credit for keeping going, try to love yourself, know that you're special and give yourself a break. Why? Altogether now, "BECAUSE YOU'RE WORTH IT". You really are you know.
Welcome to Newbies, you'll love it here.

If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of mince pies, roasting a perfect turkey, and lay a magnificent table, but have no love for my guests, I am just another cook.

It's OH's attempt to be OS so instead of getting a kebab we go home and cook whilst drunk, usually we make mexican food, but last night opted for fried eggs (scrambled for me) and beans :)

He licks the whole thing, he does it to his bed too, they're the same texture, so i do think he just likes the feel of it, as he's licked his bed since he was puppy. Odd little creature. :rotfl: Just would rather he didn't lick our sofa while we are out! There isn't much he doesn't like as he's grown up being fed scraps, but i wonder if that bitter nail stuff to stop you biting your nails will work...hurm...food for thought, thanks :)

We went telly shopping, set ourselves a budget of £300 but now OH has his heart set on a £600 one , so we've got to save a bit more, you get £100 cash back on it which is something....will wait to see what the sales do...

Just made 8 portions of leek and potato soup, and got some WW snack foods, last ditch diet attempt before christmas!

Went out for our roast dinner too, was yummy and our last treat for a while in light of the new telly situation!
