  • Hi Shoe Gal,

It really is hard to keep up the motivation sometimes, be it debt or exercise. I find a challenge always helps me. After I had our DD a few years ago I knew I wanted to try and get back in shape but I am an eternal excuse maker so I knew I wouldn't stick to something self imposed.

What I did was sign myself to a half marathon that was 9 months away and I told everybody I knew and started fundraising for charity. When sponsorship started coming in I knew I had to get training or I'd never be in shape to do the race and let everybody down. It worked for me. I did the race and raised loads for charity in the process.

Maybe you could do something similar? It doesn't have to be a half marathan at all, but just something enough to motivate you... a 5k or 10k perhaps?

On the money front, remember all your debts are just money you have stolen from your future self and imagine all the things it is holding you back from doing.

Good luck and keep up the good work.

Wise words Piggy! Right girlfriend (imagine an American cheerleader here Shoesy) this weekend get your house in order, get a good food shop done and get ready for the improved you. Housework doesn't take that long once you start, neither does the food shop if you go with a list and that will still give you plenty of time for the important things, like quality time with James (Martin) and the Kindle! Good day yesterday - was out for lunch and managed to order a salad, and then ended up with salad again for dinner. Went for a sunbed, dug out the slendertone machine and had a good nights sleep :)

And it's payday! :j Time to get a budget sorted!

:cool:I've lost 3lbs so am well chuffed with that! Stuck to the diet yesterday and am feeling better already!

Have had a lovely day, got my nails done this morning then had some friends round. Made chilli so no big spends and lots of wine drunk. And a lovely, tidy flat as a bonus due to guests!

Off to bed now with my new Red magazine, sometimes I love my life! As Souk would say - it suits me! :D

Time for a end of first quarter audit!
    • Good stuff - my work situation is better and I am much happier
    • Social life is OK and I am enjoying having 'the man' in my life as a friend, as well as spending time with my other friends
    • Not so good stuff - my weight/fitness/well being, I haven't made any progress in these areas
    • Finances - I've let things slide and am not really making any progress towards clearing my debts as I am using my credit card every month from mid-month onwards
So, it's clear what I need to do!

    Diet/fitness/wellbeing

I have a target to lose 10lbs by 6th May, of which I am back to a 2lb loss (have been up and down in the last week) so that's 8lbs to lose in 5 weeks - a sensible and achieveable target. The plan is sensible, mindful eating - no extra snacks, comfort foods etc. I will not become a diet bore, or attempt some complicated fad diet! I know what to do - I just need to stick to it! Exercise has to become a must do! 3 times a week - no more excuses! I don't want to spend any money/commit money to it so the plan is DVD's (which I already have) and starting the 5k running plan. To compliment this I will also do the wellbeing stuff - sunbeds, vitamins, looking after my skin and I also need to work a decent haircut into my budget as a reward at the end

    Finances

I have let this slip just by not being careful. So it's back to basics here - cutting out the 'extra' spending - magazines, food treats etc. As ever though, I will still be 'having a life' :D

Financial stuff - claiming some freebies! :j Today I have ordered £25 John Lewis vouchers with points as a wedding gift for the wedding I am going to in May. I have also used my Nectar points to renew my Red subscription for 6 months and requested Amazon vouchers with my remaining points - guilt free shopping! :D

I've filled in the form for a PPI claim with the bank - I don't actually think I'm entitled to anything but worth a 15 minute form fill and a stamp!

Got some steroids for my eczema and some eye drops so am feeling brighter today. And a lovely phone call too! But now I'm stuck at home due to traffic/weather problems so not quite the day I had planned!
