Toshiba A120 Core Duo 1.66GHz £399

Dabs are doing this spec for £340.41+VAT (£399)
If you're not bothered about it including Vista, it looks like a good deal

Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 Core Duo 1.66GHz 512MB 40GB COMBO XPHome

Fairly modest HD size and could do with more RAM, but its still good value for £399.

Me and OH have one each of these. Got it for that price off savastore a few weeks ago. Really nice laptop. Runs software I need for work better than my work pc does. We both upgraded the RAM to 1GB at no cost as we already had the extra memory but its cheap from crucial.com anyways and there on quidco. Its got very good battery life too. The only downside is not having a dvd writer but not a major issue as we have a separate one in our old puter.

A speedy response would be appreciated!!
  • Dont buy the dell, the toshiba is dual core - as in it has 2 processors whereas the the dell is only single core, the toshiba is much more future proof and way better value for money.

Im gonna wait til the ones with separate graphics card come down in price because i've heard the intergrated graphics put a strain on the system.
Also i agree about keeping away from Dell as i've already posted a thread whereby i configured two originally different priced and different configurations to the same configuration and one was £686 and the other was £773!

  • They only put a strain on the system if you are going to be playing games and I dont mean solatire or something, if you arent planning on installing any games theres no need for you to get a laptop with a separate graphics card.

Some machines with integrated graphics have TV out.

Integrated graphics is fine if you have loads of RAM. :)
