You must either have a very big stove or a very small room0 -

Thus far i have used anthracite and ecobrite, ive got esse that i havent used yet and the place also sells stoveglow (which is most expensive but dunno what it is)0 -
Im putting in as much as the stove can take so definately cant be lack of fuel
But is it all alight before you turn the stove down?
I get the whole basket going before I turn down the stove, then you see the fire bricks get a red hue to them as well - thats when the heat is belting out. You got to get that stove hot before you close it down else you are just getting a long slow cool burn0 -

When I have a roasting hot stove then I keep the vent closed when refueling - the heat of the existing fire will cause the fresh ovoids to combust right away. I only open the vent if the fuel is not lighting and is sitting there in a sulk
I lit my stove at 6pm. Good handful of dry kindlers and then a throw or two of ovoids. Left all vents open to get the fire started. Hour later I threw on some more ovoids and now 20 mins later the stove is running hot enough to turn down and leave till 10 ish
My room is around 6m by 8m or there abouts and its gone from 18oC to 22oC in that time
( a throw is where I open the stove door - aim the scuttle and do a throwing motion
 not very scientific ) 0
