Grr need to get this off my chest, and its only about a measly delivery charge!
I have been a customer of LR for years and got a couple of offer codes emailed to me this weekend, one for 50% off one item and the other for free P&P. Anyway stupidly I didnt read the small print!! My fault I know.
So I phone customer services to ask why the codes hadnt worked the woman quite snottily informed me of my mistake! This immediatly got my back up, so I asked if i could cancel the order, she bluntly said no, and that as I had confirmed the order online I had agreed to their terms and conditions. So I told her I would be sending it right back to them and cancelling my account right away, she said I would still be charged for delivery!!!!!
Now I know she is right and I am wrong, but what happened to good old 'the customer is always right' and just a bit of customer goodwill and respect.
I've sent them an email of complaint!
There I feel better now

So you admit the mistake is your fault.
But you're still complaining?
*shakes head in disbelief*
Oh and the customer isn't always right, they just always THINK they are...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

i only ever placed 2 orders with them before closing my account , on both occasions they sent the wrong items. never again. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

meepster - i think youre missing the point.
The point is the way i was spoken to! If she had 'kindly' pointed out my mistake and apoligised that she could not do anything about it, i wouldnt have been angry.
I worked in customer services for years and now in healthcare, if i spoke to my clients like that, i wouldnt last very long.
Crissy - i havent ordered from them for ages as they took 3 months to deliver my last item, and then it didnt fit!0 -
I had a similar experience with Landsend. I had forgotten to add in the voucher code.
Except they said of course you can have free P&P. They amended my order there and then, taking off £10 that was with the the free P&P offer code.
Lovely company to buy from0 -
veryunsure - never heard of that company - I will look them up
Ive never come across a company who would not cancel an order for you, Next and Amazon you can do it yourself online - its not like the courier is stood waiting in the warehouse - and I phoned almost straight away, LaRedoute could learn something from Landsend0 -
Im a customer of La Redoute and get quite a few codes sent to me but when I decide to use them on a couple of items they never seem to work. One day I went through all the codes Id had sent me and e mailed on this one order and none worked, could not work out why so did not place the order in the end.0

Lovely company to buy from
Except they bombard you with catalogues.
I ordered one thing from Lands End, online, in the summer. I opted out of marketing.
So far they have sent me half a dozen catalogues and I have called them four times to ask them not to.

Absurd outfit.
They've been here for decades now and they still can't print a catalogue or create a web site with the correct show sizes for the locale.
Bought from them once over 20 years ago but I can't be bothered to deal with someone who's idea of customer service is so abysmal they can't even undertake basic localisation.
You know a company is bad when they could take lessons from Microsoft. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Obviously I cannot comment on the experience you have had but I have found the sizing info on the website easy to understand! You either click the button that says 'size info' and a clear table pops up or hover over the size button and the UK size pops up.
I don't know about the catalogues; that will annoy me if they come all the time. I sometimes buy from Donald Russell (meat) and I am getting bombarded with email and post at least every other week.0 -

Yeah, because listing something using an inappropriate measurements and making every customer do a conversion every time they want to order is sooo much more professional than just using the correct sizing system in the first place. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
