PAP - stop being so down on yourself, your cards aren't crap!!
I think the biggest problem you've got is that people generally don't buy cards off the internet, it's easier just to pick them up from a shop. Do you have any little independent shops (gift shops, bookshops, newsagents, stationers, small cafe even?) near you that you could approach to see if they would sell them, possibly on a sale-or-return basis? Alternatively, get on your mum's insurance (you don't have to wait for it to run out before being added), and get a stall at the local car boot or farmer's market if there's one near you.1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0 -

In my local post office, there is a stand with cards made by someone in the village, could you do that perhaps?Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Ok they arnt crap. I will agree with you on that one
but i seem to be making all these cards and they are being stuck in a box.
lenny ~ i think a google link would be too much money. I just think the online market is saturated and i am not getting anywhere... i was thinking of running a promotion online ~ mid season sale/spring sale with 10% off all cards?
sarah ~ i think thats where i become unstuck...
red ~ i have thought of a car boot stall on a sunday. I think that may work, even if i just give out my site address. The problem i will find is when i sell them at the stall and say at the same time someone will buy the same card online. I will then lose out
sf ~ nowhere around here really. I live in a town and every newsagent/postoffice has 'hallmark' stands :rolleyes:0 -
Our church often has table top sales and you pay say £5 for your table and then sell your cards. All the money you take is yours and anything over the £5 is profit for you. My friend has sold cards this way.
I didn't understand the problem with car boot sale v online buying. Surely if someone bids on a card which is "out of stock" you can make one up quickly enough.... perhaps I didn't get the point?
Don't give up!
Another idea - the school I work in has a box of cards in the staffroom - I don't know who makes them but people certainly buy them! Could you sell them at work in your staffroom? Or do you know someone who could sell them for you?
There must be other ideas - I'll keep thinking...0
