As mentioned earlier, the phone came from a private sale on Ebay.
Private sellers arent always thatAlways worthwhile checking their listings/feedback to see if they are trading as a business under guise of a private seller.
However, given the phone was damaged, it is more likely he is a private individual and only certain aspects would apply (like the item must be as described). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Didn't think the Desire S was released when your contract began?
I am expecting mine to be delivered tomorrow... what a thread to read the night before, maybe it's an omen!
It was just out when I got it, I'd need to dig about to see exactly when it started and finishes. Maybe 6 months is too soon, dunno.
FWIW the phone itself is good. Just the aftercare should you need it thats crap0 -
he means he works for someone like openreachDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Well, thought I'd post an update.
I managed to get a customer care manager to call me after I sent an email to the CEO and one of the European directors.
I explained what had happened so far and that we were at an impasse - I wasn't paying for work I didn't think needed done, they weren't fixing the phone without doing it.
I asked him to ask the repair centre if they would take it to bits and repair the fault then put it back together with the same chipped screen and chipped casing then return it to me if fixed or toss it out if they couldn't fix it.
I also had a go at him about the return postage cost, the T&Cs state one price, the repair quote stated another and then he quoted me a completely different one!
He wasn't sure if they'd do it but said he'd ask. He phoned back the next day to tell me that they were going to replace the chipped bits FOC and then repair the fault. It was going to take a while because of Christmas and New Year.
So the phone arrived back with an all new shiney screen and case but the fault was still there. They hadn't even looked at the actual fault!!
Anyway it went back after a short discussion with the call centre (actually got someone in Glasgow) they've now returned it. :j
Hopefully its fixed this time I just need to get home to check it.0 -

How many times are they going to keep doing this to owners - SO many people who go through the repair process have to use it more than once.
I sent mine in on o2, they screwed it up so badly they sent it back on Virgin Media.
Are they still sending them back in boxes which say 'we're all good' on the front? :rotfl:
That irritated me more than anything lol0 -
Yeah they're still sending those boxes.0
-
Well,
Got it out the box, looks fine. Even had another new bit on the rear casing!
Stuck it in my pocket for some on the move testing and it still has the fault.
I'm now waiting for the complaint team to reply to my message now to see what happens next.0 -
.....and this is the reason why we dumped our HTC's.
And don't believe you are speaking to a 'manager' - you never get one - I resorted to the HTC US twitter account, still got nothing - its just plain incompetence.0
