I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
We grow our own and it usually lasts the whole year. Sometimes some cloves dry out or sprout but most keep fine.0

I usually stop using any that are all soft and bendy, or if the insides of the clove have shrunk back so it feels "empty" IYSWIM. This normally only happens if the odd clove has fallen under the basket I keep them in and got lost. Takes a lot longer than 3 weeks though!
Basically I would agree with Thriftlady (goes for most veg in our house too;) ).
It's only a game

I was sick of garlic drying out on me (don't use a great deal of it). So now I peel and freeze individual cloves in a resealable bag - just take out one or two as and when needed. Allow to defrost for a couple of minutes and then slice, chop or crush according to the recipe.0

thanks in advance.0

i would keep it as long as i think its ok. If you open it up and its dry inside i think its for the bin (or if it shows mould etc . SOme people keep after sprouting, i wouldnt)
Thread about garlic and onions shelflifeA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I keep mine in the fridge. I can't remember any going off. I'd say three weeks, if I had to guess0
