How long should a cake last? We were tidying out the utility room cupboards a few weeks ago and came across something wrapped in tin foil. It was only our daughters 21st Birthday cake bottom layer completely untouched. We cut a slice and apart from being a bit dry it seemed fine. No mould or odd tastes

Seems remarkable seeing as she has just celebrated her 30th birthday:eek:

My Gran kept a fruit cake in a tin for about 20 years...when my aunty was pregnant and had 2 weeks to her due date we found the cake, aunty had a piece and that night my cousin was born...:) we think the cake 'helped' the baby out....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
