  • To be fair that delivery guy has just invited the OP to tell the retailer he never received the items. The reason that companies pay carrier to deliver is so that they deliver it. You wouldn't expect Tesco store delivery drivers to drop 24 pallets in the car park and hope they didn't get nicked would you?:j

Unless an item is signed for, it's always going to be the delivery drivers word against the recipient.

I can see where Darroch is coming from but annoying though it is knowing he opened your front door, I would be glad to not have to arrange a re-delivery or have to collect from the depot. Royal Mail is meant to have a 'Safe Place' option but from what I've heard they don't do it. I had to pick up 2 items from the post office yesterday paying not only for parking but the petrol in going down there. Neither item was recorded delivery so I don't get why the driver didn't leave them with my neighbour. Heaven forbid my lovely neighbours took in 2 massive boxes (and I do mean massive, approx 4' long boxes) as well as a very expensive engagement ring although they were signed for. I know my postie has left stuff just inside the front door but then I've gotten to know him over the last couple of years so I'm not concerned.

As said before, if the front door was left unlocked you can't blame the guy for trying to do you a favour. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'd take it on the chin and warn the missus to lock the door on her way out.

Her title on the forum is White Hair but I cant seem to find it anywhere so this is the only way I know to contact her which I said I would.I like so many others would like to thank you for all the Tesco misprices you find.

LMAO if the OP did that, they'd be comitting a crime, nothing to do with the delivery driver. God some of you have some odd ideas lol.
