I went to Bristol this afternoon to do a bit of shopping and a trip to cinema with oh and my daughter. Went to GBK for lunch when we got there ( in Cabot Circus). Tried to use my Tastecard but they said only in the Park St branch not in Cabot. So ordered beef burgers for my and oh and a beanburger for DD as she is a veggie. She was half way throuh hers when she said it was falling to pieces and then she found a hair in it. So called over waitress and she apologised and went to get another butger for her. We were sat behind a divider near the counter and firstly the waitress was obviously talking about it as I could hear all the girls saying " Well it is not my hair". Then she went to talk to one of the other girls and said" people often come in and put a hair in their food to get a free meal". Then a few minutes later another waitress brought over the replacement burger and said very sweetly "Oh did they forget yours?". So my daughter said no it had a hair in it
So oh and daughter left and I approached the waitress and said it would probably be best not to discuss customers when they could hear. She got really stroppy and said she had said nothing and so I said please may I see the manager.
He came along and asked me to walk with him to a quiet area near the kitchen door and asked me what happened. Just then the waitress stormed by on her way to the kitchen obviously try to hear what I was saying. He apologised profusely and said he would speak to the staff and he refunded the cost of the whole meal. I would not have minded but there was a hair, she only asked for a replacement and I get really annoyed when people take me for a fool.0 -
