Nursing bras

  • It came on a hanger, Teerah.

I'm going to phone M&S to ask them why the bras are so short and if they do the other one in a G fitting. If they don't, I'm going to have to make do with the ones I have. I'll be asking if anyone knows how to lengthen the back strap though until I've lost some weight and can button them without them being too tight!

You can buy bra extenders from lingerie sellers and baby shops. They only cost about £1.50 for a pack of two but you need to find somewhere with free P+P if you are buying them online! :o

Edit: They've got packs of two for £1.50 at Figleaves (P+P £2) but if you click through via Quidco the front page says 'Free delivery & 10% off'.

So much for moneysaving...I went onto Figleaves and added a product to my basket to see whether the free P+P and discount were applied. Just ended up ordering a nice non-wired Sloggi bra. :o I couldn't resist! ;)

Oh well - the discount and free P+P worked anyway!

It's been several years since I was breastfeeding but my biggest advice would be get the clip not the zip - you know that scene in "something about mary" well it can happen to girls too

The above are the ones that fall short. (Literally.)

The other one isn't listed in the home shopping but it's product code T33 07772/0714
The bottom one only goes up to an F fitting.

The other is just over 2" shorter than the first, so the customer services woman said she'd call me back after checking that there isn't a manufacturing fault on it. I also asked her to get the store to find out if there is a G fitting that is the right size across the back. Fingers crossed.

I buy my all my bras from John Lewis and I find that you need three nursing bras to get you through. I breastfed my son for a year and and my daughter is now 8 weeks old. I was measured at 38 weeks with my daughter but I knew when she was born that they were not going to be quite right. They had warned me that they thought this may happen. It also happened with my son too. Your breasts change dramatically. I would adivse a remeasure when your baby is seven days old or so as your milk should have come in and settled down a bit.

My sister got her nursing bras from Debenhams they were really pretty.

I've had several really bad experiences from M&S with bras. Mothercare was no good either. but as I am a J cup it is hard to find them.

    Good luck with it all
  • Hi https://www.nct.org.uk has an excellent selection of nursing bras available, expert advice and a no quibble return policy.
They were a godsend to me when I was trying to source comfy nursing bras in a 44 f.

Oh joy! That's it. The badly fitting G cups are going back!

  • LOL The saga of the bras continues.

The G cup fits like a glove and the F is too small already. I have gained much more in cup size than I expected and lost much more round my back than I anticipated too. So my advice to anyone waiting for their baby to arrive is to wait and get bras once your milk is in. *(Baby is only 9 days old.)

And Teerah, are you okay? Not seen you about this week.
