Joining bank staff at a hospital?

Would it be possible for me to do this? I have 2 years (3 including my years voluntary) experiance in care but have no NVQ's. Due to my current employer having a waiting list and my last one ripping me off whilst doing the NVQ
My agency doesn't give me too many shifts now so was wondering if I could join the bank at one of the hospitals round me?

I think you'll find they require qualifications. Is there a way of doing it at night school or part time?0

Well possibly, but experiance should count for alot because I have done alot of care work. Plus I am going to do access course (nursing) next year anyway.
There is age uk(concern) who do it but I think I would prefer to wait a year.0 -
Could you do an apprenticeship in care? progress to higher app. (level 4) or degree from there?0

With saving I cannot afford to do an apprentiship and drop my wage.0 -
Not all apprenticeships are on min. wage - many reflect the 'normal' wage for the job.0

There's nothing to stop you applying but you could also apply to other care agencies. There's no point getting involved with NVQs when you have 3 GCSEs to do before you start your Access course next year.0

Exactly what I was thinking ONW you speak alot of sense. Plus NVQ's are now pretty much worthless... even more so now they have gone to qcf I rang up 3 universitys and not one accepted level 3 anymore they wanted GCSE's + A levels (or an access course, as I chose to do).
But do need all the money I can get this year to save for a deposit so I can concentrate on my course next year. Do you see what I mean?0 -
Definitely apply!
I can honestly say I've never seen any HCA jobs (bank or otherwise) ask for further qualifications unless they are specifically after a level 3.
The bank at my hospital only ask for 6 months experience0 -
Band 2 bank CSW don't normally require formal qualifications, however more and more employers are specifying HNC in health care or NVQ III.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Sorry, I disagree.
When you're 20 years old and about to be a student for 4 years is not the time to be overly worried about saving for a deposit on a flat.
Concentrate on remaining solvent, doing well in your studies and taking on extra responsibilities of a voluntary nature that will enhance your CV.0
