  • I work in WHS and have been taught all about these in order to 'promote' them. The price in WHS has dropped now too..There now £69 for the Kobo Wireless & £99 for the Kobo Touch. So many people have been saying the Kobo is better then the Kindle. (Not just saying that because I work in WHS!!). I'm tempted to buy one myself! You can also use books from any online store on the Kobo too, unlike the Kindle! & They come in loads of different colours. I will keep my eyes peeled for any discounts that pop up in store and post them on here, but atm not even our staff discount works on them!!
    Started comping: June 2012

asda still works out cheaper only by couple of quid but i aslo go £5 off to mmmm :)
  • Is the touch kobo £99.99 in store at whsmiths? And is there any other shops that sell it apart from Asda? I have bought kindle for dd for Christmas, it's really great but the wife keeps trying to control it with the screen lol so going for a kobo touch in blue for her
  • Yeah £99.99 at WHSmiths. I think you can only buy the Kobo in WHSmiths, ASDA, or apparently Staples? (Although I don't know if that's true or not) or online!

Can you really get an extra £5 off at Asda? I thought the Kobo was exempt from most coupons/vouchers. Not that it matters because the closest Asda from me is miles away! :(

Kobo, is now owned by the Japanese company Rakuten who own Play.com - Which is probably why the price has dropped on these, what their future plan is anyone's guess but presumably the current model is going to be obsolete very very soon. Maybe the Kindle is a safer bet.
My Mind wanders, if found please return.

    Hi
I had a quick look at Kobo at the weekend in WHSmith. The pages were turned on the d pad, I liked the screen and the text. I disliked the way the page turns on screen. I found that the text from the previous page disapeared while the next page emerged, I found the d pad hard to control ie skipping two pages or more, very confusing.
  • so, if you have a Kindle you can read other non-Amazon e-books with conversion software.
But if you have a Kobo, can you read Kindle e-books, or not? thanks!
