i got my o.h. a touch kobo for his birthday and its great, he loves it, definately worth getting a touch screen if you use a smart phone as not having touch screen may be frustration? Also he has found lots of free books online too.;)0 -
FWIW
Mentioned to her indoors about one and she so "no way much prefer books".
So bought one for myself, curiosoty got the better of her
Upshot is she has been totally converted.
Bought the Kobo Touch, excellent piece of kit.

Take a look at the books on Waterstones, smiths and kobo, and any free ones on project gutenberg. That is why where you will buying from if you get the kobo. Also some libraries do books for them. With the kindle you are tied to amazon... Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, as their prices and range are good. I would suggest that is the key to your choice.0 -
I don't know if this is correct but on hukd someone said that you turn the page on this with the d-pad, this would be great for me, the kindle and other readers have buttons on the side of the screen so you can turn easily. It doesn't sound much of a fault but I couldn't stand it if it was a pain to turn the page.0

With free conversion software like calibre you aren't tied to amazon if you have a kindle.0 -
